BTL Institute of Technology & Management was established in the year 1997 under the banner of BTL Educational Trust for Rural Development which was founded by Prof. B. T. Lakshman, an NRI settled in USA.  It is an institution dedicated to the cause of Technical and Management education and started functioning with the mission to impart quality Technical Education and instill a sense of discipline and dedication towards Research and Development activities in the areas of Technology. The institute has a fleet of committed faculty members who guide the students and help them become competent engineers in the professional world.

 
The Campus of BTLITM is spread across 25 acres of lush green land providing a wonderful environment for learning. It has a large building that provides all the modern facilities for carrying on Technical Education. The institute is located on the Hosur Main Road in Bommasandra, near the Electronic City, Bommasandra Industrial Area, Hosur Road, Bangalore. The campus is easily accessible from all parts of the city. 

 
BTL Institute of Technology and Management is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum.  The institute is recognized by the Government of Karnataka and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

BTLITM awards Scholarship based on merit for the students from the second year onwards. The institute has declared that two toppers from each branch will have a potential for a 6-month Student Scholar Exchange Program at the University of Delaware, USA, with a purse of $1,000 per month.

The Training and Placement Cell of the BTL Institute of Technology & Management serves as a link between the Engineering graduates and the industry. It conducts Technical Workshops, Seminars, and Personality Development Programs, Group Discussions, Written Interviews and several other Training Programs for the students. The institute shares a Campus Connect Program with Infosys. Through this program Infosys trains students on Soft Skills and Personality Development.

BTLITM encourages Research and Development activities in the Technical field. There is a Research and Development Cell in the Institute that provides support to all Research activities of the students. VTU has recognized the departments of Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and the department of Chemistry as Research Centres of the institute. Candidates can register for PhD & M.S. programs in the above mentioned departments.

BTL Institute of Technology and Management Admission
VTU Entrance Test is the main entrance exam to be passed for admission, provided if you did not pass or attempt any other tests. It includes a Written Test and a Personal Interview (PI). All the updates regarding this exam are to be checked from the official websites of CMS or BES. However, you will be exempted from attending the VTU, if you have valid percentiles across other exams. Online Mode: Candidates can download the application from the official website, and candidates can apply through online mode.
Offline Mode: There is an offline mode for the application process by visiting the college campus admission section.

Direct admission to the institute occurs if the candidate is not selected based on their marks and score.
Candidates should have attended entrance exams, and their previous education marks should have a minimum aggregate.

B T L Institute Of Technology and Management Placement Cell Roles & Responsibility

The placement and training cell serves as a bridge between science and industry. The training and placement cell has a frequent personal contact with the students, in addition to the normal activities of internships, which helps to better understand and recognize their problems and seeks to resolve and strengthen their confidence in all aspects. The activities included in the internship curriculum includes group discussions, personality development, interview tips, written aptitude tests, IQ and brain questioning, psychometrics, false interviews, both technically and personally, etc.

Placement details:

Placement department organizes technical workshops, seminars, personality development programs and other training programs. A gradual training methodology is used to develop their skills, reasoning skills, aptitude, communication skills, technical skills, leadership skills, interpersonal skills and training to the crack the interview with confidence. A fundamental session on skills and personality development, along with their academic curriculum is conducted from 3rd Semester. When students attend the fifth semester, intensive 1 to 2 week training of the skills mentioned by industry experts is organized.

From Second year onwards, scholarships will be awarded based on merit numbering to 12, one for each section. The amount will be decided based on the accrued interest the organization will get on the deposits kept as endowment. Go Abroad.... Eligibility Criteria Eligibility Criteria for all category:- 1. Must have obtsined a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Mathemetics, Chemistry and Electronics, Computer Science at 10+2 level for general category or 40% for others. 2. For Govt. CET Seats Minimum of Seven Years study in Karnataka.

LIBRARY

The Main Library is located at the heart of the college campus which is quite conducive to a peaceful study environment .It spreads over a total area of 540 sqm.The Library maintains an estimable record of all the necessary books, references , magazines etc. that an engineering student requires during his/her course. Each student is provided with an appropriate Library Membership Card that is to be used for all transactions done at the Library. Students are expected to take responsibility of the borrowed books and abide by the rules/regulations.There are a total of 6692 titles, 19682 books and (24+11) journals (both national/international).

HOSTELS

The boys’ hostel spreads over an area of 2142sqm. A total of 67 rooms are available on twin sharing bases. Additional 26 rooms will be available by March 2010.The basic furniture including beds, tables, chairs, cupboards etc. is provided to each student residing in the hostel. Solar heating panels are available. The Dining facility includes four meals in a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Tea/Snacks and Dinner).The students are given the opportunity to decide on the menu of their choice. Others facilities for hostel students include 24/7 Wi-Fi facility, a small Library, a TV room, Indoor games etc.Immediate nursing facility is available from at the adjoining Hospital- Narayana Hrudayalaya. Matrons/Wardens are allocated for supervision and maintenance of the hostels. Security is also provided for both the hostels.

CANTEEN

The College has two canteens within the Campus, both accessible to the students. One canteen serves as a food corner. The canteen provides a good quality food

The college provides a transport facility at a 65% discount, for both students and staff members. There are 7 vehicles out of which 5 are for the students and staff and the remaining for the management members
