C.V. Raman or Sir C.V. Raman Degree College is an arts and science co-ed college affiliated to Sri Krishnadevraya University. This college was established in the year 2001 with over 15 years in the educational field. Almost all the basic courses available in arts, science and commerce are taught in this college. The first preference for students in this college is generally the science stream. The faculty strength is moderate. To be eligible to study any undergraduate course over here, you must score good marks in the higher secondary. The cutoff varies each year, but a general range of 85% and above can be considered for science courses. Sometimes an entrance test is conducted to shortlist students for the science courses.

The college has a well-stocked library. The laboratories are in good condition. There is a separate computer laboratory where students can practice on varied software. The students are also encouraged to participate in seminars and workshops. There are both internal and external seminars conducted in this college. The former is organized by the college and the later may have speakers from outside colleges. There is a canteen where students can take their lunch and afternoon snacks.
