His Holiness the 25th Guru Maha sannidhanam of Dharmapuram mutt established an oriental College in 1946 offering Vidhwan and Pulavar diploma programmes in Tamil with the approval of the Madras University. It was upgraded as an Arts College (Co-education) in 1988, affiliated to Bharathidasan University. The college is situated 3 kms east of Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu on the Mayiladuthurai-Tranquebar highway. The college is recognized under 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act,1956.

The college offers both aided and self-financing programmes- 7PG 12UG and 8 Diploma and one college certificate programmes. Presently, it is administered by the visionary 27th Guru Maha Sannithanam Sri-La-Sri Masilamani Desiga Gnanasambanda Paramachariya Swamigal, Head of the mutt-a doctorate in tamil, Who formerly served as professor of tamil.

Differently abled/wards of ex-service personnel and sports persons have to attach Xerox copies of the necessary certificates.
Differently-abled students must submit disability certificate in original at the time of interview.

If admitted candidates withdraw their admission have to pay the fees due for the remaining semester.
Women students admitted must use the college bus from the Mayiladuthurai Bus stand to / from the college.
Use of cell phone, motor cycle , men students wearing dhoties are not permitted.
Hair dressing must be proper.
No student is permitted to have the campus from 10.00 a.m to 3.45 p.m including luch time between 01.00 and 1.45 p.m
Original certificates will not be returned under any circumstances till their completion of study.

Our training programs are focused towards a holistic development of building students expertise in Technical, Aptitude as well as Soft skills. Our unique skill based assessment evaluates students based on their performance and knowledge levels. The main objective of the Cell is to bridge the gap between the stringent competition in the industry and with the existing talent available in the college.

The total area of the college is 3,76,881sq.ft. It consists 3 Blocks.
Block-I has 42,743 sq.ft and Block-II has 38,682 sq.ft and Block-III has 46,534 sq.ft.
There are 61 furnished class rooms adequate enough for learning.
Well-furnished computer laboratory having 3,300 sq.ft(110 X 30).
Two Physics Lab having 1,125 sq.ft. for UG Lab and 750 sq.ft for PG Lab.

For the convenience of the girl students the institution operates three buses coming from and to college. This transport facility is only for the town limit students. This transport facility is also used in some times for other educational purposes like industrial visits and educational tours with proper permission from the authorities.
