Government Engineering College, Bidar (GECB)

Government Engineering College, Bidar was approved in 2022 by Government of Karnataka to be established at Bidar with the sole intention of imparting technical education to the rural mass and down trodden to elevate their life standards. It is administered by the Director of Technical Education, Bangalore.

GECB is set a beautiful campus on Mailoor Road, Bidar, Karnataka, The College is located in the heart of Bidar which is known for its historical and cultural significance.

GEC Bidar is Affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi. The college has received “A” accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). 

GECB offers 2 UG courses namely BE in Computer Science and Engineering and BE in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with an intake of 60 students per course. All courses are approved by AICTE.  Admissions to the college are made through Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Bengaluru.  Candidates must have appeared in JEE Main and obtained a valid score.

The modern state-of-the-art infrastructure provided by GEC Bidar is well-developed, with spacious and well-lit Classrooms, Laboratories with cutting-edge equipment and software, extensive Library, Computer Center, Auditorium, Cafeteria, etc. In addition, the college offers a variety of student amenities such as separate Boys & Girls Hostel, Sports facilities and a Student Recreation Center.

Academic Eligibility for Four Years under Graduate Programs (B.E.):

1. Through KEA

• FOR GENERAL MERIT CANDIDATES: A candidate who has Passed in 2nd PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the Language and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue in under graduate programs (BE).
  
  FOR SC/ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A 3B) CATEGORY CANDIDATES: A candidate who has Passed in 2nd PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the Language and obtained a Minimum of 40% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue in under graduate pogroms (BE).
  
  The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science / Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the pursue of determination of eligibility.
