Facility Library
With a large collection of over 22747 books, 10 periodicals, CD-ROMs and reports, the library serves the needs of the students and staff of the college. The library is kept open from 8:30am to 4:30pm on all working days. The College Library consists of a reference section and lending section. A Book Bank is also functioning in the library, exclusively for SC/ST students. Students can keep the books for 14 days and there after a fine Re.1/- per day per book will be levied. The library is fully computerized and has a heavy-duty Photocopier machine for the benefit of students and staff. Online availability of international journals is also provided.
Hostel
GEC Wayanad, has separate one Men’s Hostel (MH) and two Ladies Hostels (LH1, LH2) are
located in the college campus. In MH, the rooms are in Six different level, each level is allotted
branch wise and semester wise. In each LH the rooms are in three floors, each floor is allotted to
branch wise and semester wise. In each hostel, 24 hours security (KEXCON A Govt. of Kerala
Undertaking) is available. At Ladies hostels in-house Matrons are there to take care of students
during all time. At Women’s hostel, the matrons ensuring medical care and smooth functioning of
hostels. The hostel is administered by a Hostel committee comprises of staff at various levels and
periodically review the planning and execution.
The Hostel admission is purely based on Kerala Government norms. The Hostel
accommodation is available to UG./PG /PhD students. The men’s hostel has 60 rooms and can
accommodate 240 students. The ladies hostel has 80 rooms which can accommodate 320 students.
The hostels maintain strict rules and regulations of discipline for its smooth running.
All the hostels are well furnished and are equipped with a dining hall accommodating more
than 100 Students at a time. All the hostels have 24 hours hot water supply for drinking purpose.
Each hostel has a common room for recreation which has a cable connected LED TV, newspapers
etc. Separate mess facilities are made available for boys and girls with good balanced food at
reasonable rates. The mess is run on dividing system by the mess committee with a mess Secretary
elected from the hostel inmates. Mess committee decide the monthly/weekly menu in consultations
with other inmates. The mess Secretary meets the Warden and concerned staff frequently for
assistance in the administration connected with mess.
Canteen
A canteen is functioning in the college premises, which provides sumptuous meals at a subsidized rate to students and staff. The canteen is managed by a committee headed by the Principal. On festive occasions, special lunch can be arranged with a made-to-order menu.
