GMC Kollam is a 500 bedded Medical college and a multi-specialty hospital with facilities including round the clock casualty services, has a built up area of 12,029 sq mtr, boasts of 10 Modular Operation theaters, ICU, CCU, Neonatal ICU, CSSD & TSSU, most modern equipment. Quarters and hostels for staff and students are also provided in this Medical College. Courses: MBBS, MD Community Medicine,MD Forensic Medicine,MD Pathology,MD Microbiology. Para Medical Course : Diploma in Medical Laboratary Technology(DMLT).

Initially it was named ESIC medical College and was constructed by the ESI Corporation of India. It was the second medical college project from ESI Corporation of India in the country and the first of its kind in Kerala state.
