Indira Institute of Engineering and Technology (IIET)

Indira Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2007 under the aegis of the Indira Educational and Charitable Trust with aim of imparting education with cultural values in order to develop students as excellent professionals and responsible citizens.

Indira Educational & Charitable Trust was established as a non-profit educational  organization and has been serving the country in the field of technical education ever since. The founder of the trust is Mr.V.G. Rajendran, a Philanthropist and Social Activist has been in the field of promoting real-estate projects in the city of Chennai.  Realizing the need for immediate action, he decided to establish a world class educational conglomerate at Thiruvallur district.

The IIET is located in a large campus spread over a beautiful lush green stretch of pollution-free and verdant land spanning an area of about 10.5 acres, providing an ideal atmosphere for calm and peaceful academic pursuit.  The college is situated on the Thiruvallur-Thiruthani National highway about 6 kms from Thiruvallur Township at No. 1, V.G.R Gardens, V.G.R Nagar, Pandur, Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu.   Among the nearest Transportation Hubs, Tiruvallur bus stand is 9.9 km away, and it takes a 20 minutes drive and Tiruvallur railway station is 7.3 km away, takes about 13 minutes by car.  Chennai Airport, is 51.3 km away,a and takes  around 1 hour and 23 minutes by car.

 Indira Institute of Engineering and Technology is affiliated with Anna University, approved by AICTE and provides 5 postgraduate and 6 undergraduate courses.

 IIET offers a number of UG and PG Degree programs on Full Time Mode in the fields of Engineering, Technology and Management including B.E/B.Tech, M.E, and MBA.  Admission to undergraduate programs relies on HSC (+2) exam performance via TNEA counseling or direct admission through the Management Quota. 

 Indira Institute of Engineering and Technology offers various Scholarships for deserving students based on merit.  The Various Scholarships offered are Government Scholarship to students from SC/ST community, Merit Cum means Scholarship, First Graduate Scholarship from Tamil Nadu Govt., BC Scholarships, MBC Scholarships, Farmer Scholarships, etc.

The dedicated IIET Training & Placement Cell interacts with the organizations of repute for arranging campus interviews for the placement of final year students.   It provides students the opportunity for Industrial Visits of reputed companies to improve their knowledge in industrial activities and also arranges for students to be sent for In-plant Training to enhance their technical skills and to have industrial exposure It also enhances the soft-skill capability of the students through regular training program.  Training and Placement cell even counsels the final year students for their higher studies.
