Jeppiaar Institute of Technology is an Autonomous, Christian Minority, Technical Engineering College in Tamil Nadu.  It was found in 2011 by Jeppiaar Educational Trust, an organization created by the Educationist Chairman and Late Colonel Dr. Jeppiaar in 1987.  He was well known for his dedication to spread knowledge among the youth of India through technical education.  JIT propels relentlessly towards fulfilling the chairman’s vision “Aspire to provide technical education in futuristic technologies with the perspective of innovative, industrial and social application for the betterment of humanity”.

 
The concept of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology to build environment-friendly sustainable living practices is achieved in its Green Campus situated along the Electronic Belt of Sriperumbudur in a widespread area of 12.52-acre land at Kunnam, Sunguvarchatram, Sriperumbudur, Kanchipuram district, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

 
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, approved by AICTE and Certified with an ISO 9001:2015.  All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) rated Jeppiaar Institute of Technology under Gold Category in AICTE – CII Survey of Industry Linked Technical Institutes 2020 nationwide, 814 institutes are shortlisted for award categories out of 4180 institutions that include Government and Private Institutes (Deemed Universities, Autonomous & Affiliated) across India.

 
Presently, JIT offers five popular professional under-graduate engineering programs namely B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering, B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering, B.Tech Information Technology, and B.E. Mechanical Engineering.  It also offers MBA Post Graduate program.
