Joseph arts and science college is a Christian minority educational institution,and was started in the Year 2000. It is affiliated to the Thiruvalluvar University,Vellore.It is located in the picturesque natural beauty on the banks of the river Gadilum in the National Highways Madras-Trichy, 23 Kilometres away from Villupuram

The aim of the college is to provide best education at affordable cost for the Students. The college is most useful to the poor and economically backward people of the surrounding villages. The college is dedicated to God to the training of the mind, heart and will of young students in accordance with the highest Christian ideals, thus preparing them for life and enabling them to fulfill a useful role in home and society.

The college admits students of all faiths and religions and seeks to provide For them the best possible higher education. each student is looked upon as an Individual endowed by God with certain talents, with their own character and Personality which must be developed and perfected. Joseph college looks to each of its students to uphold the standards of the college not only in the college but also outside at, not only during their student years but throughout life. It is for the students to cultivate this Spirit within themselves and around them.

Students attending classes, meetings or other gatherings within the College are expected to be presentably dressed in accordance with approved etiquette.
When a student meets a member of the staff for the first time in the day, he / she must greet him / her appropriately.
Students are forbidden to smoke in the College premises, to write or make any mark on the walls or desks or throw paper or ink on the walls or floors of the classrooms or corridors. Severe action will be taken against the offenders
Students are not allowed to loiter about or stand in the verandahs or corridors of the College during class hours.

Students should abstain from active participation in party or communal politics.
The Principal shall have full power to inflict the following punishments in the interest of the students or the Institution: Fine,loss of attendance, loss of term certificate, suspension or expulsion.
Students should not indulge in any activity leading to the disruption of peace and discipline, or dislocation of the normal functions or meetings. Those who are found guilty of violation of this rule will attract any of the punishments mentioned in Disciplinary Regulations, para 3 above.
Students who are guilty of (a) rude language towards the staff of the College (b) assaulting or attempting to assalut fellow-students or the College employees or other staff of the College will attract any of the punishments mentioned in Disciplinary Regulations, para 3 above;
No private collection of funds shall be made from the students or the staff without the prior permission of the Principal.

UNDER GRADUATE
Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the Bachelor Degree shall be required to have passed higher secondary examination conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu or an examination accepted as equivalent.

The upper age limit for admission to UG courses will be 21 years as on 1st july of the year of admission, however a relaxation of 5 year is permitted for physically handicapped. Preference will be given to those who have studied the respective subject in their qualifying examination.

POST GRADUATE
For PG Courses, the qualifying examination marks in part III(Major, Allied) alone shall be taken into consideration

M.Phil and PhD
Candidates seeking admission to Research programme shall be required to have completed their relevant Post Graduate degree
