ABOUT KLE SOCIETY’S LAW COLLEGE

The KLE Society’s Law College at Bangalore has been conceived as a nursery and training ground for those seeking to enter the legal profession. Under the umbrella of Karnataka Lingayat Education Society, the college was established in 1975 to cater to the needs of young students desirous of pursuing legal education in Bangalore. To start with, a three Year LL.B. Degree Course was introduced and in the year 1996, a five year Integrated Degree Course in B.A. LL.B. was introduced to attract young students to commit at their earlier age to a Professional Course. To cater to the needs of the globalised corporate world and prospective corporate lawyers, another Five Year Integrated Course – B.B.A. LL.B. was introduced in the academic year 2011-12. While many successful students of the college from its inception have occupied top positions in the society in various fields like advocacy (trial and appellate), corporate practice, chamber practice, management, government offices, etc., in the recent years most of the students have occupied pivotal positions in many corporate enterprises too. The College has created and maintained an academic atmosphere that enables student’s growth to the maximum extent. “It is recognized by the Bar Council of India and is a Constituent College of KLE Technological University, Hubballi from 2021. The college was earlier affiliated to the Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi.” The college offers along with Undergraduate programs, various certificate and diploma courses and operates in a modern, well-equipped campus located in the heart of the city. Deeply committed to educational excellence in the field of jurisprudence, the college has earned a good reputation for the quality of its academic programmes, a fact reflected in it being ranked as the 2nd best private law college in South India by “The Week”, 8th best private law college in India by “Careers360” and one of the Best Law Colleges in India by “India Today in 2015.” Academicians of the college provide a thorough understanding of the subjects and the professional skills that are required. In addition, knowledge is supplemented by guest lectures from leading advocates and former Judges of High Courts and Supreme Courts on a regular basis. The college has suitable facilities for the training of tomorrow’s law professionals befitting its place among one of the renowned places of excellence in legal education. Spacious classrooms equipped with comfort seating and LCD facilities for interactive teaching, staff rooms with IT resources for the staff, moot court hall, a very well stacked library, e-library with access to various online and off-line databases for research and other facilities makes legal research easy and enjoyable.

Seven visionary teachers and three benevolent patrons established the KLE Society in 1916 with a single minded and resolute commitment to facilitating “Empowerment through education”. The first 100 years of the organization have been a transformational journey that has seen the organization evolve from a single school into a mammoth commitment comprising over 300 institutions engaged in providing services in “Education, Healthcare, Research and Agriculture”. Living up to the expectations of over 1,38,000 students and the Healthcare requirements of people across India, especially the rural poor, the committed team of over 18,000 members of the KLE family is all set to scale new heights of domain excellence in the new century. Setting benchmarks, embracing the evolving needs of society, incorporating technological tools in an attempt to keep pace with global scientific advancements the organization today has garnered global status and acceptance. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

SELECTION PROCESS
5-Year integrated B.A.LL.B. / B.B.A.LL.B. / B.Com.LL.B. Programs:

Admission is based on CLAT / LSAT scores / 12th exam score – Candidates shall submit the online application and appear for the selection process; a personal interview shall be held.

3-Year LL.B. Program:

Admission is based on the score of the qualifying exam. Candidates can submit the online application form and appear for the selection process; a personal interview shall be held. Admission is based on first-come-first-serve basis.

Admission process for 2023-24 has commenced. Selection Lists are published as per the below schedule:

ELIGIBILITY
1. B.A.LL.B., B.B.A.LL.B. and B.Com.LL.B.: PUC / 10 + 2 or equivalent with 45% marks and 40% marks for SC / ST candidates only.
2. 3-Year LL.B.: Any degree or equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate and 40% marks for SC / ST candidates only.

SCHOLARSHIP
Financial Support from the Institution

Institution is providing the following Endowment and Alumni Cash prizes to the students who secure highest marks in their respective classes.

A. Endowment Cash Prize:

A cash prize is awarded out of the fund kept by Shri kallappa Beleri Master of Lakkundi in the name of Late Sir Siddappa Kambali for having stood first to the college in 1st year LL.B.
A cash prize is awarded by the Industrial Exhibition and Education Promotion Trust Fund, J.T. College, Gadag for having stood first to the college in 2nd Year LL.B
A cash prize is awarded out of the fund kept by late Dr. Godbole in the memory of Smt. Ramabai Godbole and a Rolling Sheild of Shri Bhoomareddi of Ganjendragad, for having stood first to the college in 3rd Year LL.B.

B. Alumni Cash Prize:

A Cash of Rs. 500/- is awarded for having stood first to the college in 1st Year LL.B.
A Cash of Rs. 500/- is awarded for having stood first to the college in 2nd Year LL.B.
A Cash of Rs. 500/- is awarded for having stood first to the college in 3rd Year LL.B.

Institution facilitating students to apply and get scholarship from State Government Schemes and Central Government Schemes

Institution has a formalized system in place to facilitate eligible students to apply and get scholarships from Government. Till 2019 college office facilitated the students to apply for State Government Sponsored scholarships viz. Vidyashree, State Government fees concession scholarship and SC & ST Scholarship by giving notice about the scholarship. College office used to guide students as to the necessary documents to be submitted for applying scholarship. Further the college office used to process the application and forwarded to concerned departments. In 2019 Dr. C. B. Ranagattimath, Physical Education Director is appointed by the college as Nodal Officer for the purpose of scholarship. The nodal officer is to facilitate students to apply for scholarships by ensuring due submission of scholarship applications in the online portal. He further authenticates the genuineness of the applications to the concerned government departments.
