The College is ideally located in serene and rural surroundings not far from the city. It is conveniently connected with all parts of the city through frequent town buses plying from various destinations. Started in the year 1973 with a humble beginning, the college has grown magnificently in academic stature with autonomous status having 13 research programmes, 11 PG programmes and 22 UG programmes. The college is imparting higher education to approximately 5000 students, majority of whom hail from socially and economically weaker sections of the society. More than 60% of the students studying in the college are girls and thus the college is playing a pivotal role in women empowerment and social justice.

The University Grants Commission, New Delhi, conferred the Autonomous Status to our College in the academic year 2004 - 05. In the third cycle of re-accreditation, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council has awarded “A” grade with the CGPA of 3.64 out of 4 to the college. In the fourth cycle of re-accreditation, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council has awarded “A+” grade. The University Grants commission has awarded the prestigious award of College of Excellence during 2016-2017.

Class Room
Spacious, fully-furnished class rooms with neat desks, benches, light and fan facilities are being maintained in a proper manner, providing a clean and healthy environment conducive to study. Recently the Management upgraded the classrooms to Smart Classrooms to make the students get the best out of their college educational experience.
CONFERENCE HALL
The Conference Hall is a 2100 sq.ft. air-conditioned, well-furnished structure with a seating capacity of 200. Department level seminars, workshops, staff meetings, students council meetings are conducted in this hall.
Hostel
The Hostel mess is being run by the Mess Committee that includes elected students. The Mess has a modern kitchen with steam heating facility to provide healthy and hygienic food. Unlimited food & milk is provided to the hostel students. For Kerala students "Kerala Rice" is made available daily to cater their needs. During festivals, special meals are cooked for hostel students. There are separate, clean and adequate dining halls for both boys and girls.

Common Facilities

The rooms are provided with all amenities. There is a Hygiene Committee which looks after the cleanliness of the rooms and toilets in the hostel. A separate 100 KVA generator is available to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the hostel and mess.

LABORATORY
The College provides world- class lab facilities for each Department in a 61,185 sq.ft area. 12 Under-graduate laboratories, 9 Post-graduate laboratories, 7 Research Laboratories, 7 Computer Laboratories and one Language Laboratory are fully equipped with modern instruments to experience the research environment. The students are motivated to employ their minds in research work for their advancement.

The Physics Nanotechnology Laboratory, Biotechnology Laboratory and Computer Laboratory have received astounding appreciation and applause for their outstanding contribution in the field of research and have been consistent in adding various feathers in the cap of our college.
