Maharaja Arts and Science College was established in the year 1998 by the Paramasivam Palanisamy Charitable Trust, Erode. The Institution is recognized by the UGC under 2(f) & 12(B), approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. The Founder-Chairman of the college is Thiru.K.Paramasivam, B.Sc., who is a renowned industrialist, reputed educationalist and benevolent philanthropist.

Along with his Illustrious son, Thiru.P.Sathiyamoorthy, B.E., M.B.A., M.S., who is our dynamic Secretary & Correspondent, he is making indelible marks of achievements and accolades and is rendering yeomen service to the cause of higher education in the fields of Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce and Management.

UG Programmes

Application for admission shall be prescribed in form. The form can be obtained from the college office by paying Rs.100/- in person or by post by sending a Bank Draft for Rs.150/- drawn in favor of The Principal, Maharaja Arts & Science, Coimbatore. Separate application shall be made for each course.

Submission of Application

1. Photocopy of the +2 mark statement

2.Photocopy of the community certificate shall be submitted

Admission will be made in each branch according to the rules of reservation prescribed by the Government of Tamilnadu. Direct admission will be done under management quota. The candidates can directly approach the Principal from the day of the publication of +2 results with a printout of marks taken from internet.

PG Programmes

Application for admission shall be made in the prescribed form. Placement and Training

To develop the students’ communication and personal attitudes we have arranged special training for the students. Campus interviews are arranged for the students of all departments. Carrier guidance is also offered to all the students so as to enable them to secure better jobs. We have tied up with many top companies for placement training. Regular campus interviews are arranged for the students graduating from our college and we have achieved 100% placement. Extra care by offering special training facilities for students to improve their communication skills and overall personality is taken up.

Placement Activities

The placement cell has placement representatives from II & final years. These representatives are given special training to enhance their leadership skills and to work in a team. The II year and final year students are trained for the

Basic Infrastructure All the programs are conducted in the main building. It has independent staff rooms, comfort rooms with 24 hours water facilities, UPS for the computer centre’s, RO water purifiers, well connected public transport facility, round the clock water and electricity facilities and a play ground for both UG and PG students.

Supporting infrastructure

The following supporting infrastructure facilitates the students:

• Spacious and well ventilated lecture halls, seminar/conference halls, separate comfort rooms for students and the faculty and modern furniture to suit the needs of today’s higher learning;

• The placement and career guidance cell of the college trains the students in soft skills and enables students face interviews with ease.

• A suggestion box inviting suggestions from stakeholders of the college is being put up at the strategic point in the college.

The computer labs in our campus are equipped with the most modern systems and accessories. The labs have a total of 150 terminals and all software packages as per the stipulated norms of the controlling authorities.

Internet facility

The technical campus has dedicated internet connectivity with 8 Mbps broad band connectivity available 24X7 to the students and staff.

Library

Library of our college is housed in an area of 2000 sq.ft. The main aim of the library is to provide sources of latest thousands of information services and access to print and e-resources to support the informational needs of the students and staff. The library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, printed and e-journals CD-ROMS, online database, audio and video cassettes, news papers, project report etc., the library function from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.

The area of the auditorium is around ½ an acre with ample lighting for both stage and audience with audio visual facility.
