National Institute of Technology in Haryana is situated at Kurukshetra. It was established in the Year 1963. The college is declared as Institute of National Importance. The college has wide sub-urban campus with 300 acres.

Tech Admission Selection Process. Candidates have to fill out and submit the application form. Candidates have to appear for the JEE Mains entrance examination. Candidates selected in the entrance examination have to appear for the counselling process conducted by JoSAA.

NIT Kurukshetra has a training and placement cell that offers various placement and internship opportunities for students. The training and placement cell of NIT Kurukshetra works hard to provide the opportunities which will give the best growth in the career of the students. The training and placement cell invites companies for NIT Kurukshetra placement drive to their college from various sectors such as Core Engineering, Consulting, Manufacturing, Software and IT. The placement cell also prepares the students for NIT Kurukshetra Placements by conducting mock interviews and other activities to enhance their employability skills. The placement process of the company includes the written test,group discussion and personal interview.

NIT Kurukshetra Placement Process

• The training and placement cell of NIT Kurukshetra invites the companies for the placement process to their campus.

• The company fills out the form given by the training and placement cell with all the information about them.

• The date of the placement process is discussed between the training and placement cell and the company.

• The training and placement cell informs the students regarding the job opening and sends the list of interested candidates to the company.

• The company conducts the placement process on the said date, the placement process includes pre-placement talks, group discussions and personal interviews.

• The company releases the offer letter to the selected candidates and shares the list of the selected candidates with the training and placement cell.

• The training and placement cell helps the selected candidates to complete their joining formalities and ensures that the candidates join on the date mentioned in the offer letter.

The National Scholarship is offered to the students who have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their last qualifying examination and have an annual family income of less than INR 2,50,000 (excluding HRA). As a Scholarship award, boarders of the institute are granted INR 300 per month and INR 120 for the day scholars.

Department has recently shifted into new building in year 2011, which consists of 3 fully equipped Lab, 1 Reseach Lab, 1 A-View room, 2 Lecture Theaters, 9 Faculty rooms, 1 HOD room, 1 Board room.All laboratories have projector & fast internet access facility. Total  125 computers are available. Also, Department is fully wi-fi enabled.
