Narayana Guru College of Engineering (NGCE) was established in the year 2002 under the aegis of Dr. G Sidharthan, Former Head, Department of Management studies, Anna University Chennai, and Former Registrar of Kerala University.  he College came into being as a result of the desire of a large number of well wishers associated with Narayanaguru International institute of Science and Technology who wanted an educational institution to impart value-based and discipline-oriented modern technical education of global standards at affordable cost.  Apart from Dr.G. Siddhardhan, his wife Mrs.G. Chandralekha, Mr S. Manoj (Software Engineer USA), Prof. Sasikumar (Former Principal, SN College, Kollam) and Mr. Anidharan (Former Chief Engineer KSEB) are some of the promoters.  The College has grown from strength to strength in the last 22 years and progressing towards Excellence in Engineering Education, Research and Development.

The sprawling 10 acre NGCE campus is located amidst a verdant and lush green landscape in Manjalumoodu, Kanyakumari district.  Manjalumoodu P.O, ( Via ) Karakonam ,Kanyakumari Dist, Kuzhithurai, Tamil Nadu.

Narayana Guru College of Engineering, an institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.  It is an ISO 9001:2008 institution certified by TUV.

With a number of UG ad PG degrees like B.E (6 streams), B.Tech (1 stream), M.E (6 streams), MBA and MCA, the institute has continued to attain success by challenging its own achievements with the hard word and support of the elite and well experienced faculty. NGCE has been constantly updating and upgrading the education system so as to make the students face the challenges of the modern era.

NGCE has specially curated mentor programs to identify the specific interests of the students and help them achieve academic targets or pursue a scientific research in their discipline to solve real-world problems.   The institute has collaborated with companies, industries, and institutions of diverse specializations, for technical workshops, in-plant training, campus recruitment, etc

NGCE has an effective Career Cell  which assists students in planning and upgrading their professional skills at various stages in their careers.  It collaborates with Placement Officers. The Career Cell’s tasks include organising soft-skill growth courses and training sessions, performing aptitude, dexterity, and other exams, and conducting coaching classes for various competitive examinations.  Placement cell is functioning in the college effectively. Students with higher percentage of marks participate in Interviews arranged by Anna University for leading software companies like Infosys, CTS, TCS and US Software etc. Many students have been placed in several companies.

Admission

A Pass in the HSc academic or its equivalent or in the vocational stream with engineering / Technology vocational subjects or any one or two related subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or any other equivalent qualification approved by the State Board of Technical Education and Training / Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu / Universities in Tamil Nadu as given below:

A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational subject) with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum average percentage put together as given below:

MBA | MCA | ME Admission

Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria for MBA: Any graduation of three years duration or more that is recognized by Anna University, Chennai.

The eligibility criteria for MCA: Any graduation of three years duration with maths in +2 level. BCA, B.Sc.(IT/CSE) eligible for direct second year admission.

The eligibility criteria for ME: BE / B.Tech / MCA recognized by Anna University, Chennai.

Government Quota:

Admissions to the Government Quota are handled by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates seeking admission under the Government Quota must have written the TANCET exam (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) conducted by the Anna University. The single-window counseling normally takes place in the months of July / August every year at the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore.

Management Quota:

Candidates seeking MBA | MCA | ME admissions under the Management Quota must have written one of the entrance tests – CAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT, or TANCET. The selection process is based on the scores in the entrance test as well as past academic records and performance at the Group Discussion and Personal Interview organized by the Institution.

Training and Placement Cell arranges and coordinates various programmes that aim at moulding the students so as to meet the industry expectations in career building and in turn bring laurels to the parent institution. The Training and Placement Cell, guided by a set of rules and principles, strives to maintain good relationship with industries. Preparing the recruitment schedule for the year, inviting corporations for pre-placement talks on the campus followed by final placements, and overseeing the process to its end,is the responsibility of the Training and Placement Cell. The Cell endeavors to carry out successfully all the processes methodically throughout the year.
