College of Engineering, a pioneering Telugu minority institution, is a Padmavathy Balaji Educational Trust initiative, which was started in the year 2002.  It is one of the leading institutions imparting Technical Education in Chennai which has grown from strength to strength by assiduously following its vision and mission values.  The aim of the college is to provide technical education to the students in Science, Engineering, Technology and Management fields to meet the needs of the industry.

College of Engineering campus is located on Chennai-Bangalore Highway, Sriperumbudur Taluk Irungattukottai, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.  The institute aims to promote environment-friendly practices in its Green Campus, spanning 12.52 acres.  About 3.18km from the campus is Irunkattukottai Bus stop which is The nearest Bus stop.  

 
P. B. College of Engineering is an ISO 9001:2008 certified Institute.  It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.  It is one of the youngest institutions in the country to be accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.

The college offers undergraduate courses in the field of Engineering and Technology like B.E and B.Tech Courses in full time mode. The various offered are B.E. (in 8 disciplines) and B.Tech (in 2 disciplines).  The admissions to these programs are based on the outcome of TNEA counseling.  It awards various Scholarships from Government and other bodies for deserving students and also assists in availing Government Education Loan Schemes for students who belong to the economically weaker section. 

Some of the scholarships provided to the students are First Generation Graduate Scholarship, BC, MBC and DNT Scholarship, Central Wakf Council Scholarship for Muslim students only, Scholarship for Physically handicapped, Special scholarship for SC/ST candidates, National Merit Scholarship from Government of India, ADHOC Merit Scholarship for SC/ST students, Bright students award, Gandhi Memorial Award for SC/ST students, Adidravida and Tribal Welfare Department loan for SC/ST students, Prime minister Scholarship, minority scholarship and scholarships for Beedi, Mine and Cine workers.
