Pompei College is a Religious and Linguistic Minority Institution founded in 1981 by Rev. Fr Bernard L. D’Souza in order to provide education primarily to the youth of this area. It also fulfills the aspirations of higher education of the locality adding to the cultural content of the society by imparting academic and value education to students of all castes and creeds without distinction. The Catholic Board of Education, Mangalore, manages the college. It is affiliated to the Mangalore University.

Pompei College Aikala, a religious minority institution, affiliated to Mangalore University, has been successfully catering the higher educational needs for more than four decades. PC, Mangalore Placements
PC, Mangalore has a dedicated training and placement cell that interacts with students and hospitality organizations. The cell facilitates the placement of the students for training as well as for jobs. The cell trains the students to face interviews and group discussions and helps in personality development.

Library

The library is the treasure house of knowledge that pumps life into the sinews of the academic world. Our college library is automated and has an internet facility and an online public access catalog. At present we have 21488 books costing Rs. 1991122.25. 11 daily newspapers and 62 periodicals on different subjects are being subscribed spending more than Rs.60,000.00. Apart from overnight and weekly borrowing, 362 students have borrowed 1636 books under Book Bank Scheme this year. Our Alumni members and even outsiders also make use of our Library.
