Mahalakshmi Educational Trust, R P Sarathy Institute of Technology (formerly known as Narasu’s Sarathy Institute of Technology) represents a rich tradition of excellence in technology-based education. R P Sarathy Institute of Technology, in its 15 years of existence, is a reputed institution in the State of Tamilnadu. The college is ACCREDITED BY NAAC WITH 'A++' GRADE. The college in its pursuit for quality in technical education has earned 40th ranking in the State (source: Times of India).

The college offers Six UG (B.E- CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical & B.Tech- IT, AI&DS) with total sanctioned intake of 360 and Two PG programmes [ME (VLSI Design); ME (CSE)] with total sanctioned intake of 24.

U.G. Courses: All B.E and B.Tech. programmes are of 4 -year duration; each year comprising two semesters. Students undergo six theory and four practical courses. Theory and Practical courses have three internal assessment tests and a final examination. All the examinations are of closed book type. Practical tests also include Viva-Voce examinations.

The Masters’ degrees (PG) M.E and M.Tech are two- year programmes divided into four semesters. The first two semesters have six theory courses and one or two practical courses. The third semester has three theory courses including electives and phase I of project work. The fourth semester is for phase II of the project where the student conducts experiments/research and prepares a thesis. The theory courses have three internal assessment tests and a final examination. The practical subjects have internal and final examinations. All the examinations are of closed book type. Practical tests also include Viva-Voce Examinations.

The Eligibility criteria for both Under-graduate and Post-Graduate Engineering Admission is as per Anna University Rules and Regulations for the colleges affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together as given below.

The committee shall meet at least twice in a semester.

To plan and provide transport facility to staff and students.
To interact with TNSTC and Private Bus operators and ensure smooth functioning of transport facility.
To ensure travel by authorized persons only in the private buses and TNSTC.
