RAJAGIRI SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (RSET) - AUTONOMOUS, Kakkanad, Kochi, is a premier educational institution offering excellence in engineering education and research. The University Grants Commission has granted autonomous status to RSET from 2020 onwards. The parent university of RSET (Autonomous) is A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technological University, Trivandrum, Kerala RSET is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.

Accredited with A grade by NAAC in the second cycle, six of the Nine undergraduate programmes offered namely B.Tech. Applied Electronics & Instrumentation, B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering, B.Tech. Electrical & Electronics Engineering, B.Tech. Electronics & Communication Engineering and B.Tech. Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering NBA accredited for the current year.

The institution also offers postgraduate programmes in engineering, and research programmes (PhD) in science and engineering.

RSET (Autonomous) is an endeavour of the Sacred Heart Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) the first-ever indigenous religious congregation for men in the Syrian Catholic tradition of Christianity in India. The CMI congregation, canonically established in 1855, played a major role in revolutionizing the education scene in Kerala in the late 19th century. Heirs to the profound vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, one of the founding fathers of the congregation, the CMIs have zealously worked towards providing value- based quality education to society at large, irrespective of religious differences, down the centuries. Today, the congregation has more than 400 educational institutions, from schools to professional colleges under its umbrella.

Candidates must meet the Kerala GATE cutoff criteria. Those who qualify will then attend the Kerala M. Tech counselling process. Once a seat has been allocated, candidates must report to Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology to complete the admission procedure

RSET Kochi Ph.D Admission Process
Candidates can apply for the RSET Ph.D courses.

Candidates need to appear for any national-level entrance examinations and meet the cutoff.

RSET Ph.D selection process is based on written tests and/or personal interviews, as decided by the University periodically.

Finally, selected candidates need to verify the academic documents and pay the course fees to confirm the Ph.D seats at RSET.

For RSET B.Tech courses about 50% of the total seats are reserved for allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. An additional 15% of seats are allocated for the NRI category, based on the PCM marks obtained in the 12th standard. The remaining seats are considered College Merit seats, which are allotted based on the ranking of applicants in higher secondary level examinations.

Awards & Scholarships

AWARDS

1. Proficiency Awards

Awarded at the end of the fourth year to the students who have secured the maximum marks in each branch, based on the total marks secured till the seventh semester. The award carries a cash prize and a proficiency certificate.

2. Dean's Honours

Awarded to the top four students of each branch other than the one given Proficiency Award based on the aggregate marks secured in first attempt till the previous semester examinations. Selected students will receive a merit certificate, will be issued three more books from the library, and can have 100 pages printed free of cost from the Central Computing Facility. They will also be awarded with a cash prize sponsored by the alumni

3. Special Awards for Outstanding Performers

Special Awards, consisting of Certificate and Cash Prize, are given to students who perform outstandingly well in a semester, and score A+ or O in all subjects in the semester-end examinations.

4. Merit Award in Mathematics

Awarded to students who get either A+ or O grade in all core Mathematics courses (MA 101, MA 102, MA 201, MA 202/204) offered in the first four semesters. Only the marks in the first attempt will be considered for the award. Cash prizes will be awarded to the meritorious students.

5. Merit Award in Humanities

Awarded to students who get either A+ or O grade in all the three Humanities courses viz. Business Economics, Life Skills and Principles of Management. Only the marks in the first

attempt will be considered for the award. Cash prizes will be awarded to the meritorious students.

6. Perfect Attendance Award

Awarded to all students who secure 100% attendance in each semester. Selected students will receive merit certificate, will be issued three more books from the library, and canhave 100 pages printed free of cost from the Central Computing Facility.

7. Prof. Dr. Rajan V.K. Pillai Memorial Award

This award is instituted in memory of the former Professor and Head, DCS, late Prof. Dr Rajan V.K. Pillai, who was instrumental in establishing and developing the department and its facilities, and introducing new courses and electives. It is awarded to either a B. Tech, or an M.Tech, student on the basis of his/her outstanding academic/ research performance, and presented on the Course Completion Day.

8. Ms. Mary John Memorial Endowment Award

This award is instituted by the Department of Information Technology, in memory of the late Ms. Mary John, former Assistant Professor from the Department. It is a testament to her unmatched dedication and service to the student community of Information Technology. The award, consisting of a cash prize and a certificate, is presented on course completion day to the highest CGPA holder of the Department of Information Technology

9. Award for GATE Top Scorer

This award has been instituted by Prof. M. Mahadevan, former Principal, RSET, in memory of his parents, the late Sri. T. A. Mahadevan Pillai & Smt. K.N Seetha, and is awarded to the top scorer in the GATE examination. It is presented on the Course Completion Day.

Scholarships

The toppers in the merit list for admission will be given scholarships as decided by the management. The scholarships will continue in the subsequent years provided the students maintain good conduct and the prescribed SGPA in the semester-end examinations Students belonging to economically weaker sections, who secure admission based on the allotment by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, will be granted 100% fee concession, provided they possess BPL card or other documentary evidence. The number of scholarships is limited to ten.

RSET Kochi Facilities
Students and employees at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology have access to both basic and modern facilities at the campus. The library has a good collection of books and is well-equipped. Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology facilities include a conference hall, gallery hall, and video conferencing room for hosting college official events. Indoor and outdoor sports facilities are both provided at the RSET Kochi campus. There is a medical centre with a nurse and a doctor on hand for medical purposes. A shop is located on campus for general shopping needs. The campus has a health club & fitness center with a professional instructor. RSET Kochi provides transportation for employees and students to local locations and towns. The campus has a transportation system that connects it to all of the cities and suburbs' essential locations.

The library, Alethea, has a computerised information system with all of the necessary storage and retrieval capabilities. It has a seating capacity of 201 and a total area of 937 square metres. The library is open from 8 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Each department has its own library, in addition to the central facility. In the library, there is a photocopying machine.

All computers on the RSET Kochi campus are connected to the internet that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There's also NMEICT, which has a 10 Mbps bandwidth. A UTM is used to connect the leased lines.

Speed post and electronic fund transfer are available at the campus post office, which is formally known as Rajagiri valley post office. The honesty shop, located on the first floor next to the Coffee Counter, sells basic stationery that students can purchase by depositing the specified price in the money box.

The college provides efficient transport facilities to a number of cities and towns nearby. Around 20 buses are arranged for the comfortable transportation of both staff and students to multiple routes. All the buses reach the campus on or before 8:15 and leaves by 4:45 every day. Students are to keep their bus cards/ ID cards on them every day and are liable to produce them anytime at the request of the bus coordinator.
