Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering (RGCE)

Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering is a reputed private self-financing Christian minority institution run by Gulf Returnees Educational Society (GRES).  Established in 2001 to provide reputed technical education, the college initially started its journey with courses in three branches viz. ECE, CSE and IT which has now increased to 12 courses.  RGCE is the first self financing college in Tamil Nadu to introduce BE (Biomedical Engineering) in the year 2002 and the first in introducing B.Tech (Petroleum Engineering) in South India, with technical support from ONGC and Aban Offshore Ltd.

Ever since its inception, the College has maintained its eminence as a leading Engineering College in India. Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering offers a wide range of UG and PG Degree Programs in the Field of Engineering and Technology in Full Time mode, which include 8 B.E. / B.Tech programs at Under Graduate Level and 4 M.E. Programs at Post Graduate Level which are taught by highly educated faculty members at affordable fees to students. The fee is set in such a way that there is easy accessibility to education and eligible students get the opportunity to gain suitable knowledge and skills in their respective field of study. Till date, 18 batches of graduates have successfully passed out and are well placed in different sectors across India and abroad.

 
The unique feature of RGCE is the Scholarships awarded to students. The Institute offers full support to the students to get scholarship from Government and other agencies.  Scholarships from Government worth Rs 1 Crore were recently distributed to 600 students of RGCE, based on the eligibility.

The NSS and Youth Red Cross team are also actively participating in public service. The department of Biomedical Engineering also joins hands with them to organize blood donation camps and rural medical camps.
