Roever Engineering College (REC)

Roever Engineering College is an educational institution run by the St. John Sangam Trust.  It was established in 2001 with the sole purpose of providing quality technical education at affordable costs and has brought in the culture of innovation among its students.  REC is part of the larger  Roever  Educational family with a specific focus on Research-oriented education.  It even provides guidance to undertake PhD program under Anna University, Thiruchirapalli. 

St. John Sangam Trust, Perambalur has over 50 years service of managing over 30 educational, social and charitable institutions, in and around Perambalur. The Trust established these institutions in memory of a German Missionary, Reverend Hans Roever, who initially established a Boys’ Home in the 1950s for students from around the region.   Since 1978, under the vision and tireless hard-work of Dr. K. Varadharaajen, the Chairman & Managing Trustee, the establishment has exponentially.  The Roever Educational Institutions have a proven track record of social development and gives preference to students from rural and economically backward students.

REC has a Campus Size of 27.51 acres at Elambalur, (P.O), Perambalur -Tamil Nadu.  The Institution is located in a very good pollution free environment surrounded by green fields and hillocks.  Its location is just 5 kilometers from Perambalur Town which is on Trichy to Chennai National Highways. The Government is starting to establish SIDCO close to this college campus.

The institute is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Roever Engineering College has a well-established Admission Cell for processing admissions and guiding the students who are looking for  admissions to complete the admission process.  BE/BTech, BE/BTech Lateral Entry, MCA, ME are the courses offered by REC.

The success of REC’s UG and PG programs is supervised by well-qualified and committed faculty, who continue to set the standard for excellence. There is a continuous check on the implementation of planned academic activities with desired results in grooming future generation for employment and for higher studies both in India and abroad.  To that end the college provides various facilities like a Modern Computerized Library with AV Center & CD-ROM Workstation, English Communication Language Lab, Gents & Ladies Hostel, Sports & Games facilities, Internet & Wi-fi enabled campus, Transportation and Financial assistance.

Admission process

Roever Engineering College has well-established admission cell for processing admissions and guiding the students those are getting admissions to complete the admission process.

Applicants should request an appointment for a personal interview with an Admissions Representative of the College or download the application online.

Admissions to all undergraduate and postgraduate courses are made as per the educational qualification, age limit and other conditions such as communal reservation prescribed by the government and the university.

Students must bring the copy of their passport size photograph when called for admission and two more copies if he/she seeks admission into the hostel.

Placement

Career Development Center at Roever Engineering College, Perambalur facilitates the placement of students passing out from the Institute besides collaborating with leading institutes in setting up of internship and training program of students. The Training & Placement Office provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions, tests and mock interviews.

The college has a modern computerized library that has more than Thirty thousand volumes of books covering various areas of computer sciences, Life Science, and Arts. It has subscriptions to three hundred journals. The Audio-Visual Centre & CD-ROM Workstation has an impressive collection of thousands of video cassettes & CD-ROMs. The Computerized catalog could be accessed in the library.

Sports

The college provides handball, Foot Ball, Hockey, Volleyball, ball Badminton, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Kho-Kho, Chess, Carrom, Cricket, Tennikoit, Badminton, 200 Mts Track also available. · Regular summer camps for all the Games and Sports. · Various exercises, advanced skills, techniques, and formations are being taught during the practice session. · Special coaches from outside also arranged to conduct coaching camps. · The department provides ample opportunity to the students by sending them to participate in Divisional, State, district, and College level tournaments and also friendly matches. · Intramural tournaments are conducted every year. · Prizes and certificates are given to the winners and runners-up and an overall championship trophy is also awarded to the winning team.

Laboratories

The college has an English Communication Lab with the prime objectives for developing the four major skills among the students. They are: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

Guest Room/Waiting Room

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

Transport

Twenty Five buses are made available to facilitate the staff and students. The buses are operated from Ariyalur, Pennadam, Thozhudur, Thuraiyur, Veeraganur and Trichy. The students while travelling on the college bus must behave decently. They should not create any problem with the driver or cleaner. The buses will stop only at the stage that is fixed by the transport division. The student’s Co-operation is expected for the smooth functioning of the transport facilities extended towards them.
