The temple is grand in conception and architecture and is rich in tradition, history and festivals. The main Deepam festival attracts devotees from far and wide throughout India. Tiruvannamalai, a complacent temple town which is rightly connected to the cities like Chennai, Pondicherry, Bangalore and Trichy. A galaxy of temples and ashrams situated in the quiet valleys of the town help people to undergo a Divine and Spiritual experience.
Shanmuga Industries Arts and Science College, popularly known as SIASC, is a Co-educational institution promoted by Shanmuga Industries Educational Trust, Tiruvannamalai. The objective of the Trust is to enable the college into an institution of excellence and to let the rural youth living in and around Tiruvannamalai to have easy access to higher education. The college is situated in Tiruvannamalai on the Tiruvannamalai-Manalurpet state highway. The premier institute of college education was established in the year1996. Since it’s founding, SIASC has distinguished itself by providing a higher level of culture, cultivating good discipline and finer value of life among students. The college covers a vast area of land comprising classrooms, laboratories, computing centers, auditorium, hostel, library etc. SIASC has facilities that are exceptional in every way. The environment- friendly green campus and calm atmosphere at SIASC helps an individual to discover himself and the contribution he can make to the human kind.

The newly built MBA block enable to provide a imparting management education to strengthen the managerial skills of students to face the global business challenges. The UG and PG state of art computing laboratories caters around 300 computers with network, Linux/Unix, Win NT and internet facilities. The SIASC library serves the needs of students with a wide range of information resources and comfortable quiet study areas. The college boasts a large collection of books, approximately 12,000 volumes for UG and 5000 volumes for PG. The Library also has a wide collection of Educational CD’s and DVD’s.

Instructions to Students
1. Application with Prospectus shall be received from the college office in all working days
2. The Registration Fees is Rs. 150/- for U.G. Courses Rs. 250/- for P.G. Courses
3. Separate Applications should be made for each major course of study. (Transfer from one major to another or change of language or allied subjects will not be permitted after the candidate is admitted to a particular course)
4. Filled Applications should be submitted to The Principal SHANMUGA INDUSTRIES ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE (Co-Ed.,) Tiruvannamalai – 606 601
5. Attested copies of Certificates to be enclosed along with application. Original Certificates should be produced at the time of interview. On selection, Interview Card will be sent. Candidates should present themselves with parents without fail on the date of interview.
The following Certificates of Original and its Xerox Copies etc.., are to be produced at the time of admission:
a) Mark Sheet of the Higher Secondary Examination provisional Certificate / Equivalent
b) Transfer Certificate and conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution in which the student last studied
c) Xerox Copy of T.C. 3 Nos.
d) Xerox Copy of Community Certificate in the case of candidate belonging to SC/ST/MBC/DNC/BC 3 Nos.
e) Xerox Copies of HSC (+2) Mark Sheet / Provisional Certificate – 6 Nos.
f) Passport size photos – 6 Nos.
6. Original Certificates will not be returned to the student on any account till they complete the course, they are advised to take number of copies before admission.
7. Immediately on admission, the student should pay the tuition and special Fees to the college, Special fees payable to the University.
8. The Management has the right to revise the fees for any course at the beginning of each academic year based on the norms of the Government / University
9. Candidates after their admission should abide by the rules and regulations of the college
10. The College is not responsible for any delay or loss in Postal Communications
11. Belated / Defective applications will not be considered
Payment of Fees
The Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances
a) Students should remit the prescribed fees within 10 working days from the re-opening of the college.
b) If the fees is not remitted within 10 days he /she will be charged a fine of Rs. 100/- each for next 30 days (including holidays).
c) If the student fails to remit the fees within 30 days his / her name will be removed from the rolls.
d) If the student wants to leave college in the middle of the course he / she will have to pay the entire course fees including special fees etc.., for the whole course.
e) The management has the right to revise the fees for any courses at the beginning of each academic year.

Infrastructure
The college is located in the city of Tiruvannamalai at Manalurpet Road, Tiruvannamalai. This centrally located campus, with all its well maintained sylvan gardens and inspiring ambience is well connected by innumerable buses.
Basic Infrastructure All the programs are conducted in the Main, MCA, New buildings. It has independent staff rooms, comfort rooms with 24 hours water facilities, UPS for the computer centre’s, RO water purifiers, well connected public transport facility, round the clock water and electricity facilities and a play ground for both UG, PG & Research students.
The infrastructure includes:
An auditorium which can accommodate around 800 persons.
The Department has a well equipped Seminar hall (Capacity of 350 persons) with multimedia facilities to organize and conduct workshops, seminars, Technical paper presentations.
Spacious and well ventilated lecture halls, seminar/conference halls, separate comfort rooms for students and the faculty and modern furniture to suit the needs of today’s higher learning;
CCTV Camera facilities available for all building.
Teaching aids such as audio visual aids, multi-media projectors, overhead projectors, LCDs, Amplifier-speakers, cordless collar microphones etc.,
Fully Air Conditioner Computer Labs (Totally 7 Labs with 400 Systems) with broadband internet connectivity, UPS for computers, printers, scanners etc.,
Department Library Available for PG and Research Departments
Separate Staff Rooms for all Departments with Computer and Internet Connectivity.
Separate Rest rooms for Girls and Ladies Staff’s.
Requisite facilities for sports & games like volleyball, football, shuttle badminton etc.

Digital Language Laboratory with 25 systems.
Separate Canteen for Boys and Girls.Canteen offering hygienic water, food, chocolates, beverages, ice-creams and snacks.
Internet Browsing / DTP center with scanner, laser printer, etc. (blank CD’s and DVD's are available at nominal cost in the browsing center).
Printing and Stationary shop are available in the campus.
Generator facility: standby power generator is provided in the campus to take care of the occasional power shut down due to maintenance.
The placement and career guidance cell of the college trains the students in soft skills and enables students face interviews with ease.
A suggestion box inviting suggestions from stakeholders of the college is being put up at the strategic point in the college.
Dust bins are provided at vantage points to nurture sense of cleanliness in students.
Library
The library is housed in a large hall stocked with a large variety of reading material. The Library has a total collection of about 13,325 books and provides access to more than 55 journals and magazines. INFLIBNET facility which provides access to a number on line articles is also available. Each Department has a department library. Photocopying facility is provided for the benefit of Student and Faculty.
The Library works from 9.00 AM to 4.30 PM from Monday to Friday. Further, the library is open from 9.00 AM to 2.00 PM on all Saturdays.
The Library will be closed on Holidays
Only members are allowed to use the services of the Library.
Outsiders have to get prior permission from the Management/Principal to utilize the Library.
Members can use the services of the Library only by producing the identification card.
Members will be provided with Library tickets. The number of tickets, issued to each student is three. Duration of the lending period is fifteen days and the fine amount of Re.2 per day for the delay
Rs. 50/ will be charged against the loss of each Library ticket.
The Exchange of Library tickets is not permissible.
Books will be provided only against a valid Library ticket.
Periodicals and Reference books are only meant for reference within the Library.
Avoid Video cassettes and CD’s are only meant for reference within the Library.
Only three renewals are permitted
The facility to reserve books is available. Books will be issued according to the order in which they are reserved.
Reserved books will not be renewed.
Pilferage of documents will be treated as a serious offence. A warning memo shall be issued for the first offence.
Subsequent offences will be treated seriously and the membership shall be suspended or cancelled.
In case a book is lost, the member should either replace the book or pay double the cost of the book to the library.
Photocopying of library documents is permitted. Photocopying the entire documents/ books is prohibited. Photocopying will be charged at the rate of Re.1/-per page.
Silence should strictly be maintained in the Library.
Documents other than library sources shall not be permitted inside the Library.
The use of tape recorder, radio, mobile phone, camera, etc. Is strictly prohibited inside the library.
Members are requested to leave their personal belongings in the property counter.
Students should not make any loss or damage to the library books, magazines or library property
Laboratory
Expensive equipment have been installed in the laboratories for the benefit of the students. Great care must be taken in handling equipment. Work tables and sanitary fittings should be kept absolutely clean at all times. All breakages and losses must be reported to the concerned staff in charge immediately.
Canteen
There is a canteen within the campus, which serves healthy and tasty food, in a hygienic manner, at reasonable rates. Students are requested to return the plates and spoons to the canteen after use and not leave around the campus.
Hostel (Men’s & Women’s)
Following facilities are provided in the Hostel
1. STD / ISD Telephone Facilities are available
2. Exclusive uninterrupted study room for students after college hours
3. Uninterrupted power supply, separate Generator for Students
4. Medical facility available with free medicines provided to sick students
5. Mineral water provided to all the rooms

10. Laundry and Ironing facility available
11. Free Computer Lab facilities available after the class hours.

13. Monthly medical checkup for all hostellers
Hostel Regulations
1. The Hostel fee collected at the beginning for the complete academic year
2. In case of any student leaving the hostel in the middle, no refund will be given on any account
3. Day scholars are not allowed to enter the hostel
4. No student shall leave the hostel without prior permission of the hostel warden
5. The hostellers themselves are personally responsible to save guard their belongings. They are advised not to keep large amount of cash or valuable things like gold ring, chain, etc., in their rooms
6. In case of theft or loss of any item the hostel authorities / institution will not be responsible for such loss
BUS FACILITES
We are Providing Bus facilities to the Students. The college buses operates in all areas to the Tiruvannamalai & Villupuram Districts (in and around up to 50 Kms).
Rules for College Bus
In our College, They are 39 College Buses available for the Welfare of students. Students should avail this bus facility with ID card by duly paying the bus fees. Students need to pay the bus fees for the two semesters at the beginning itself. When they travel, they should duly sit on the seats and advised to avoid the foot board journey.
