Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science is one of the premier self-financing, co-educational institutions in Chennai. It was established in 1994 and is governed by the Asan Memorial Association. The College was formally inaugurated by his Excellency Shri. K. R. Narayanan, then Honourable Vice President of India in the presence of his Excellency Mr. Vakkom Purushothaman, then Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar.

From its humble beginnings in 1994, with just 4 undergraduate courses and 6 faculty members, the college has now grown to offer 10 Under Graduate courses (Arts, Science and Commerce) and 4 Post Graduate Courses (Science, Management) and 2 Research programmes (Science). The College also introduced Shift II in 2010, offering UG courses in Commerce, BBA and BCA.

The cherished goal of this institution is to nurture excellence in education. It pursues an inclusive “learning for all” approach, committed to a holistic development of the individual to be a responsible citizen with respect for human values. With its motto of “Education beyond Classrooms,” the institution fosters an atmosphere of academic vigour, sportive spirit and cultural vibrancy.

Training and Placement Cell

The Training and Placement Cell of AMCAS is a proactive and dynamic department committed to fostering strong connections between academia and industry. We understand that a well-rounded education must go beyond textbooks and classrooms, which is why we strive to provide our students with practical exposure, industry insights, and networking opportunities. Through a range of initiatives such as internships, industrial visits, career development programs, and industry collaborations, we aim to equip our students with the skills, experiences, and connections needed to thrive in their chosen careers and make a meaningful impact in the professional world.

The Training & Placement Cell offers a range of services for the holistic development and career proficiency of the students. The seminars and guest lectures by renowned professionals and experts allow students to gain firsthand perspectives on industry trends, challenges, and opportunities. Through these interactions, students can develop a practical understanding of the real-world applications of their academic learnings. Training sessions and workshops to equip our students with the essential skills demanded by the job market are an additional feature. These programs cover a wide range of areas, including communication skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, and technical proficiency.

Career Guidance & Counselling is another important facet of the Placement Cell. Workshops on resume building and interview techniques along with personalized counseling sessions are organized to assist students in exploring career options, identifying their strengths and interests, and aligning their aspirations with the right opportunities.
