Sri Balaji Chockalingam Engineering College (SBCEC), an Institution of Academic Excellence, was established in the year 1999, with a cherished desire to serve the cause of humanity through Technical higher education. Thirumathi Kannamal Education Trust  was founded in the year 1985, under an umbrella known as A.C.S.Group of Institutions, with the objective of fostering Higher Education in Tamil Nadu.  Under this Trust a chain of   institutions were established by its Founder-Chairman, former M.P. and M.L.A., Thiru. A.C.Shanmugam, a manifestation of his pioneering vision and fore-thought. Sri Balaji Chokalingam Engineering College is one among them.

Sri Balaji Chokalingam Engineering College is located in a sprawling campus of 32 acres on the Arni-Arcot-Chennai Highway, Arani Road, Irumbedu, Arani, Thiruvanamalai Dt., Tamil Nadu. The college is nestled in a calm and serene atmosphere, just 3km. outside the Din & Bustle of the silk city of Arni.

SBCEC has been affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and has been recognized by the Government of TamilNadu.  A wide range of programs are duly accredited and recognized by the premier Statutory Authorities of India like the UGC, NBA and AICTE.

Excellent Research Oriented Courses (six  BE/ BTech. courses and four P.G. courses including ME, MBA and MCA) sustaining high-tech development and advantages of the 21st Century technology are offered to students at this Co-Educational Engineering College.   Courses offered by Sri Balaji Chockalingam Engineering College are available for a total of 507 aspiring candidates at affordable fees.

SBCEC has been playing a major role in providing higher education to the younger generation with updated knowledge and requisite skills to become economic competitors and career seekers. SBCEC also offers a number of Cells for the benefit of its students and faculty: 

Career Guidance Cell - The career Guidance cell serves as a vital link between the students of the college and the potential employers of Industry.  It focuses on widening the job prospects for those students who want to launch themselves in a career and to sharpen the knowledge about the courses available for those who want to pursue higher studies. Four members of the faculty along with the student representatives from all departments, coordinate the various activities of the cell.

About Placement Department

The Department of Training and Placement Cell is integral part of Sri Balaji Chockalingam Engineering College. It was set up with a view to facilitate the students to get the employment opportunities in the college campus while they pursue their graduation. This department interacts with reputed organizations all over the country for arranging campus interviews for the placement of final year students. It also enhances the soft-skill capability of the students through regular training programs. The department counsels the final year students for their higher studies and for getting projects from industries.

To coordinate the placement activities the college has a separate Placement cell Headed by Mr.V.Kandasamy. The placement cell manages its activities collectively by the students and all head of departments. The Staff coordinators support in all the Training and Placement Cell activities. They help to conducting programs like communication skill development, Personality development, Technical skill development, etc. Since the time of its inception, the members of the cell have been working on the training and development activities to equip the students to meet the requirements of the recruiting companies. The Placement cell has adopted an effective communication system to keep the students informed about potential job opportunities and guide from time to time.

OBJECTIVES:

·         To profile the students to meet the corporate expectation and place them in reputed companies based on the expected Job profiles of each student.
