Shri Sakthikailassh Women's College (SSWC), first self financing women's college in Salem city is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem. The college runs under Om Sri Vivekananda Educational Trust has committed Management that strives to empower women by imparting quality and skill based education. The college was established in the year 2004 with the motto Character is Power. In 2005, the college started with 497 students offering 11 UG programmes. Currently we hold 4019 students with 21 UG, 9 PG and 7 M.Phil programmes. The college is spread over with 6.050 acres of land and built up area of 29,119.40 sq.mts with a clean and pollution free environment.

The college provides adequate and ample infrastructure amenities with 7 blocks and 114 Class rooms, 25 well furnished laboratories, automated digital library, internet centre, multipurpose spacious air conditioned halls, closed and open auditorium, e- content room, yoga centre, health clinic, beauty care, day care centre and Mary Kom gym, free Wi-Fi access, ERP, reprographic facilities, excellent playground, uninterrupted power supply, RO facilities, hygienic cafeteria, free transport facilities, safe and secured hostel facility within the campus.

The college has good academic records with 67 Gold Medals and 561 University Ranks from 2008 to 2022. The college has an excellent placement records with 5000 plus students placed in reputed Companies in last 5 years. The college acts as a local chapter for SWAYAM and NPTEL. Also act as Nodal Resource Centre for IIT- B Spoken Tutorial and attained 8th position in All India Level. To create multi dimensional employability skills various certificate courses, add on courses, skill development courses, free competitive examination coaching etc., are offered to mould the students to be competent.

The eligibility for a student to join BBA course shall be a pass in HSC. Preference should be given for commerce and accountancy streams.
B. Com. Candidate for admission to the first year of the UG degree programme shall be required to have passed the higher secondary examination (Academic or Vocational) conducted by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu in the relevant subjects or other examinations accepted as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate, subject to such other conditions as may be prescribed there for.

M.Sc. APPLIED MICROBIOLOGY Candidate who has passed the B.Sc. degree in any Life Sciences[ Microbiology / Applied Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology/Botany/Plant Sciences and Plant Biotechnology / Zoology / Animal Science/Applied Animal Science and Animal Biotechnology / Biochemistry/Bioinformatics/Biology/Food Science & Nutrition/ /B.Sc. Medical Lab Technology / BSMS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/Chemistry with Botany/Zoology]as Allied Subjects of Periyar University or an Examination of any other University accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent there to shall be eligible for admission to M.Sc. Degree Course in Applied Microbiology. Candidate shall be admitted to the examination only if he/she has taken the qualifying degree in Science/Medical subjects as mentioned after having completed the prescribed courses consisting of twelve years of study and
has passed the qualifying examination.
M.Sc. TEXTILE AND FASHION DESIGNING B.Sc. Costume Design and Fashion, B.Sc.-Textile and Fashion Designing, B.Sc. Fashion Technology and B.Sc. degree related to textile or fashion.

Placement Experience: Placement training will commence from the 4th semester. You are eligible for placement by the end of the 5th Semester. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Mphasis, Tech Mahindra, and many others will recruit students. 1500+ job offers are made and one student can get from 1 - 7 offers depending upon their skill. You'll get packages ranging from 1.5L to 4L per annum. More than 98 percent of students who have enrolled for placements will get placed for sure. My plans are to pursue Postgraduation after this degree.

Hostel Rules & Regulations
The primary objective of establishing hostels for girls of Shri Sakthikailassh Women's College is to provide students a Home away from their Home. The hostels are built in an environment that certainly provides self-confidence and instills discipline in the minds of students. They can feel at ease and put in their best in academics. The hostel ambience provides scope for developing harmonious communal living and enables them to share the joys of fellowship and professional fraternity. Everyone should uphold the dignity and self-respect of every other student in the hostel. Inmates are expected to utilize the best infrastructure facilities and uphold the reputation of the hostel as well as the institute.

Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the hostel
Day scholars and other students are not allowed into the hostel
Inmates are not expected to stay in the hostel during college working hours. If they have to stay back in the hostel during that period they have to obtain permission from the warden
Cases of illness and sickness should immediately reported to the resident warden/warden for necessary action
Attendance for inmates will be taken at 9.00 pm.
Inmates are allowed to visit her native place once in a month
Inmates should not arrange any function or meeting or gathering within hostel without permission from authorities
Inmates are responsible for proper use of building furniture and other accessories. Any loss or damage to the hostel property should be borne by the inmates
Members should not stick any posters/papers or write on the walls of the hostel.
Inmates are strictly forbidden from using personal gadgets like immersion heaters, hot plates, electric irons etc. However appliances like personal Laptop are given permission on specific request.
Inmates should always keep their belongings under lock & key and also lock their rooms whenever they go out.
Strict discipline should be maintained in the dining and common places in the hostel.
Inmates participating in college or department activities should obtain necessary order from the concerned authorities to leave the hostel
Apart from the above any other rule enforced by the Principal/Warden from time to time should be strictly followed by the inmates
