Sri Siva Subramaniya Nadar College of Engineering (SSN)

SSN Institutions, founded by Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman, HCL Technologies, stands out as a premier centre of higher learning with a mission of pursuing excellence in education and research. The institutions are named after the Chairman’s father Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar.

Dr. Nadar crediting his success to the Education and Scholarships that he received during his early years, has always maintained that access to Quality Education is the most potent tool of transformation and therefore, in 1994, he established the philanthropic – Shiv Nadar Foundation. The Foundation draws heavily on Nadar’s experience of building a world-class organization like HCL. It endeavors to create Institutions of Transformational Education that will continue to influence and nurture the country’s youth for decades to come. To this effect, the Shiv Nadar Foundation has established six Institutions covering the entire spectrum of Education, which aim to address the issue of Quality in Education, Create Lasting Partnerships and have a Strong Research Orientation.

SSN College of Engineering has a faculty strength of over 275 with a faculty-student ratio of 1 faculty for every 15 students.

   A rich campus experienceThe campus is home to over 4000 students of SSN College of Engineering, affiliated to Anna University, who are amongst the best and brightest in the country. Students enjoy world class academic infrastructure, as well as professional level sports facilities.

    For SSN College of Engineering B.E admissions, out of total seats, 65% are filled through single window counselling. The remaining 35% is the management quota which is also offered on a merit basis. It must be noted that submission of a datasheet will not guarantee SSN College of Engineering admission.

   The unique feature of SSN Institutions is the scholarships awarded to students. SSN offers attractive scholarships to encourage merit and to make education accessible to students of all economic strata. The Institution has initiated a thriving tradition of offering over 600 scholarships every year to meritorious and deserving students.

    Scholarships worth Rs 4.87 crores were recently distributed to 579 students of SSN Institutions, based on the academic performance, sports achievement and economic needs.

    Since its inception around Rs.90 Crores worth of scholarships have has been disbursed to around 10,000 deserving students, many from extremely challenged backgrounds. SSN institution aims to induct and transform meritorious rural students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, providing them not just free, world-class education-, but also mentoring and nurturance – allowing them to transcend the disadvantages they face and compete with their urban counterparts.

    All scholarships include a waiver of tuition fees, free hostel stay and boarding/ grant towards living expenses and an allowance for books.
