UGC approved Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, with its acronym S-VYASA as a Deemed to be University in 2002. SVYASA has adopted the concept of Yoga and its applications to meet the challenges of modern society based on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The Vision and Mission of S-VYASA are Be and Make.
Combine the best of the EAST with that of the WEST.
SVYASA is the first full-fledged higher education Yoga institution in India and globally, offering UG and PG courses, including Ph.D. academic programs. The uniqueness of S-VYASA is to build total personality in students.
Swami Vivekananda had defined Education as the process of the manifestation of Perfection already in all. To achieve this, he proclaimed
“Each Soul is potentially Divine. The goal of life is to manifest this Divinity within by controlling nature External and Internal. Do it by Work or Worship, Philosophy or Psychic control; by one or more or all of these and be Free” Based on this, we have adopted the expanded definition of Yoga consisting of four streams: Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Karma yoga and unity in diversity. And tracks all the five Koshas ( annamaya, Pranamaya, Moanomaya, Vijnanamaya and Anandamaya) of the individual and the whole creation.

“To combine the best of the East (Yoga and spiritual lore) with the best of the West (Modern scientific research) wherein, the science and spirituality are amalgamated for peaceful and mutually useful society” for Self- Reform.
The Mission of the University reflects the distinctive features and traditions of yoga embedded in the culture. The dire need of the country now is to generate citizens of sterling character along with a profound knowledge in the discipline they have chosen to study coupled with required skills. The objectives of the curriculum fulfill this need to create ideal Citizens.

The whole admission process for all the courses offered is offline and merit-based. Any candidate who fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria can take part in the admission process. Admission to all the courses is based on the marks scored by the applicant in the concerned qualifying examination.
Placement Procedure
Interested companies contact professor-in-charge or placement officer, Training and Placement Cell for a Job Notification Form (JNF) at [email protected] .
- JNF requires the companies to fill in mandatory details of the job profile – role offered, pay package, place of posting, eligible departments
Once the filled-in-JNF with all the required details is received, companies are assigned username/password to access their online account on T&P website - Companies are also assigned space on the server on which they may upload any presentation, videos, data or other information they want the students to see
- The JNF has to be frozen on the T&P website by the company till a deadline, after which the students shall be able to view all the details, and the eligible students may apply
- After the application deadline for the students, the resumes are visible to the company. The company submits shortlist on its online account before a deadline
- Shortlisted students get notified
- The placement office allots the dates for the campus interviews
- After the completion of the selection procedure on campus, company is required to announce the final list of the students on the same day itself/ or within a week
- If a student is selected, the job is registered against him/her and he/she would not be allowed to appear for more interviews as per placement policy

A number of philanthropic institutions offer aid to students and educational loans in addition. Students attending S- VYASA are offered the opportunity to work for a part-time period on campus to pay for their studies.

Karnataka Government scholarship scheme Its State Scholarship Portal (SSP) under the Karnataka government's scholarship scheme gives payment for fees, accommodation charges and financial services to people of groups such as the ST, SC, OBC category.
State government scholarship schemes - States' governments offer post-matricuation scholarships for those who belong to the SC and ST, OBC category. Students who have a valid residence can apply for such scholarships.
