About College

Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS) stands as a synonym for quality education in the heritage city of Mysuru. VVS was established in 1949 by great visionaries namely Late Sahukar Channaiah and Late. K. Puttaswamy (Former Minister of Karnataka) to impart quality education to all sections of the society. There are ten educational institutions starting from nursery to engineering college under the aegis of VVS. At present, VVS is under the able guidance and leadership of Sri Gundappa Gowda, President, Sri Shivalingappa B, Vice President, Sri P. Vishwanath, Secretary and Sri. Shrishaila Ramannavar, Treasurer.

Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering is one of the prestigious engineering colleges in Karnataka. Established in 1997, VVCE has grown in leaps and bounds since inception. VVCE is an autonomous institute affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, approved by AICTE & UGC, New Delhi and recognized by Govt. of Karnataka. Six UG programs are accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. VVCE is also accredited by NAAC with “A” grade. VVCE offers seven UG programs, three PG programs and nine Research Centres for pursuing PhD programs, with a total student population of over 3200. The college has excellent infrastructure coupled with qualified and passionate faculty team to provide a perfect learning ambience. The college is under the able leadership of Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, PhD (IISc) as Principal, who has rich experience in industry and education fields both in India and abroad.

Admission Process

ADMISSION PROCESS FOR UG(BE) PROGRAMME:

Admissions are done as per the Government of Karnataka and AICTE Norms that are applicable from time to time

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Candidate should have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with one of the following subjects, namely Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates of Karnataka).

Candidates should have a qualifying rank in either CET or COMED-K or JEE entrance tests.

ADMISSION PROCESS FOR PG PROGRAMS (MBA & M.TECH):

Admissions to PG Programs are made as per KEA & VTU norms.

M.TECH (COMPUTER SCIENCE & ROBOTICS & MECHATRONICS):

For admissions to M.Tech Programs, the minimum aggregate percentage in the eligibility examination of Bachelor's degree in BE/B.Tech is 50% for General Merit (GM) candidates and 45% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates. In addition, a qualifying rank in either PGCET/GATE is a must.

Out of the total seats, 80% is filled through KEA and 20% through Management quota.

Placements

TRAINING & PLACEMENT DEPARTMENT

The Training and Placement department (TAP) is an integral part of VVCE connecting students of BE, MTech and MBA and also the various departments. The department has the best infrastructure for the smooth conduction of training and placement activities. The department works in close co-ordination with the Industry Relations Executives and the Department Placement Coordinators (DPC) which comprises of both students and faculty members nominated from individual departments.

The department has been instrumental in providing necessary skill set to all UG and PG students to develop their employability skills, leadership qualities and personality development.

. Income should be below 10 lakhs to be eligible for this scholarship
. CET/COMED-K/ Students are eligible

Kittur Rani Channamma Award for 2nd Year Mt Passed kiwi students in Karnataka :

Criteria:
1. This Scheme is for girl students only
2. The students should belong to below poverty Line (BPL) families
3. They should have scored very good Marks in 2nd PUC

If the students meet the above mentioned requirements, the government will repay the amount paid by the student. The District Commissioners will select the eligible 10 girl students from each district through Committee headed by the District Commissioner of that particular district. The students will benefit from the scheme till the completion of the course. However, they have to clear the course in one attempt.

LIBRARY
The library is the source of knowledge in any Institute. Our spacious library is located in the ground floor of E Block. It consists of reference section, lending section, and also the digital library, spreading over 890 sq. m. A unique feature of our library is that students can borrow laptops like a book.
