Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering is an autonomous institute located in Mysore, Karnataka. It is one of the prestigious engineering colleges in Karnataka established in 1997 under the aegis of Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS). VVCE has grown in leaps and bounds since inception. Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, PhD (IISc), leads the college as Principal, bringing rich experience from both industry and education fields in India and abroad.

 
Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS), which stands as a synonym for quality education in the heritage city of Mysur, was established in 1949 by great visionaries namely Late Sahukar Channaiah and Late. K. Puttaswamy (Former Minister of Karnataka) to impart quality education to all sections of the society. There are ten educational institutions starting from nursery to engineering college under the aegis of VVS.

 
Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering boasts a campus spread across 23 acres of land at Kannada Sahitya Parishat Road, 2nd B Cross Road, Gokulam III Stage, Mysore, Karnataka. The college is located in a residential suburb, 6 km north of the central bus station and 4 km from the Mysore railway station. Mysore Airport on the Kozhikode-Mysore-Kollegal Highway is around 16 km away from the College. Students can take a cab or a bus to reach VVCE, Mysore.

 
VVCE is an autonomous institute affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, approved by AICTE & UGC, New Delhi and recognized by Govt. of Karnataka. Six UG programs are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. VVCE whichnis ranked under NIRF is also accredited by NAAC with “A” grade.

 
VVCE, Mysore offers Bachelor of Engineering Degree program in 7 disciplines (Computer science, Information science, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering), 3 PG programs including MTech in 2 disciplines (Machine Design and Computer Science & Engineering) as well as an MBA Degree and nine Research Centres for pursuing PhD programs, with a total student population of over 3200 and 200+ faculty members.  To qualify for admissions into UG courses, the candidates must qualify in KCET/COMEDK/JEE Main entrance examinations.

The Training & Placement Department (TAP) is an integral part of VVCE connecting students of BE, MTech and MBA and also the various departments. The department works in close co-ordination with the Industry Relations Executives and the Department Placement Coordinators (DPC) which comprises of both students and faculty members nominated from individual departments. It has been instrumental in providing necessary skill set to all UG and PG students to develop their employability skills, leadership qualities and personality development. The Top Recruiters like IBM, Infosys, Capgemini, KEC, Mphasis, NTTData, Brillio, L & T Infotech, HP, etc have been regular attendees at the Campus Recruitment Drives.

The whole admission process for all the courses offered is offline and merit-based. Any candidate who fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria can take part in the admission process. Admission to all the courses is based on the marks scored by the applicant in the concerned qualifying examination.
