   The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) is a national-level engineering entrance test conducted in India. It is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and serves as the gateway for undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and related fields at prestigious institutions like the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally-funded technical institutions. Additionally, JEE Main is a qualifier for the JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

   The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) is a highly competitive, national-level entrance exam conducted in India. ELIGIBLITY

   The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) eligibility criteria are defined by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and include requirements related to academic qualifications, subjects, age limits, and attempts. Below are the details:

1. Educational Qualification

  Candidates must have passed or be appearing for the Class 12th (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board.

Required Subjects:

  B.E./B.Tech: Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a technical vocational subject).

B.Arch: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are mandatory. B.Planning: Mathematics is mandatory.

2. Year of Passing

For JEE Main 2024, candidates must have:

Passed their Class 12th exam in 2022, 2023, or Be appearing for their Class 12th exam in 2024.

3. Age Limit

There is no specific age limit for JEE Main.

However, candidates must meet the age requirements of the institution they are applying to (e.g., NITs, IIITs, or state colleges).

4. Number of Attempts

   Candidates can appear for JEE Main for three consecutive years.

   Since the exam is conducted twice a year, this allows for a total of six attempts.

5. Additional Admission Criteria

   For admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs:

  Candidates must secure at least 75% marks in Class 12 (or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board exams).

   For SC/ST candidates, the requirement is 65% marks.

6. Eligibility for State-Level Colleges

  Many state engineering colleges accept JEE Main scores. State-specific eligibility criteria (e.g., domicile requirements) may apply.

7. Eligibility for Foreign Nationals

  Candidates of foreign nationality must have completed their Class 12th equivalent from a recognized board or institution.

They must meet the subject requirements for the desired program.

Key Notes

  Mathematics is mandatory for all three programs: B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning. Candidates who completed Class 12th before 2022 are not eligible for JEE Main 2024.

Age criteria imposed by specific institutes (like NITs or state-level colleges) must be checked separately.

1. Understand the Exam Format and Syllabus

Exam Structure:

Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.

Number of Questions: 90 questions (30 per subject, but you need to attempt 75).

Duration: 3 hours.

Marking Scheme:

+4 for each correct answer.

-1 for incorrect answers (MCQs).

No negative marking for numerical answer questions.
