AIIMS Delhi PhD Admissions 2026 (January Session): Application Timeline, Eligibility Criteria and Fee Information: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has commenced the online application process for admission to its PhD programmes for the January 2026 session.


Candidates aspiring to enrol must possess a relevant qualifying degree with the prescribed minimum marks and must qualify the online entrance examination. The entire application procedure, including registration and payment of fees, has to be completed online through the official AIIMS portal before the January deadline.

AIIMS Delhi has officially invited applications for the January 2026 intake of its PhD programmes. Admission will be granted strictly on the basis of performance in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) entrance examination conducted by the institute.

As per the schedule released, the online registration process began on January 12, 2026, and will close on January 26, 2026. The PhD entrance examination is scheduled to be held on February 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

PhD Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the AIIMS Delhi PhD programme must fulfill at least one of the following eligibility requirements:

Medical Qualification
Applicants must have any one of the following:

  • An MBBS or BDS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks

  • A postgraduate medical degree such as MD, MS, MDS, DM, or MCh in the relevant discipline

  • A Diplomate of National Board (DNB) qualification

Nursing Qualification

  • An MSc in Nursing with at least 55% aggregate marks is mandatory for candidates seeking admission to the College of Nursing

Non-Medical Candidates

  • A two-year Master’s degree from a recognized Indian university

  • Degree specialization must align with the specific requirements of the proposed research project

The Non-Medical category includes qualifications such as MSc (excluding Nursing), MTech, BAMS, and BHMS. Candidates under this category must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their final qualifying examination to be eligible. It is important to note that Master’s degrees obtained through distance or correspondence mode are not considered valid for eligibility.
