CDS Application Update:
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is accepting online
applications for the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) I 2026.
The last date to submit the CDS 1 application form is December 30. A
total of 451 vacancies have been notified. Candidates must visit the
official website upsconline.nic.in to fill out the UPSC CDS 1
application form 2026. It is important to note that offline applications
will not be accepted, and candidates can apply only through online mode.
The CDS 1 application process includes registration for a Universal Registration Number (URN), which involves completing the following stages: Account Creation, Universal Registration, and submission of the Common Application Form. After obtaining the URN, candidates can proceed to apply for the CDS I examination.
UPSC CDS 1 Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay the application fee online using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit or Debit Card, UPI payment, or internet banking facility of any bank. The application fee is non-refundable. Details are provided in the table below.

How to Fill CDS 1 2026 Application?
The UPSC CDS 1 application form must be filled online. Candidates can follow the steps below to apply:
- Visit the official website upsconline.nic.in
- On the homepage, click on “Account Creation” for new candidates
- Register using a valid email ID, mobile number, and other required details
- Verify the email ID and mobile number, then create a password
- Log in using the registered email ID and password or registered mobile number, OTP, Universal Registration Number (URN), and password
- Pay the application fee and select the preferred examination centre
- Review all entered details carefully and submit the application form
