According to the announcement, from the academic year 2026–27, students in Tamil Nadu will be able to enroll in four-year integrated degree programmes such as B.Sc., B.Ed.and B.A., B.Ed.. This initiative is being implemented following approval from the Tamil Nadu Government.

The new structure is designed to streamline teacher education by combining undergraduate studies with professional teaching training into a single course. This eliminates the need to pursue a separate B.Ed degree after graduation.

Meanwhile, it has also been indicated that if there is insufficient student enrollment in these new courses, the government may reconsider or withdraw the programme.
