NDA 1 Exam 2026 on April 12: Detailed Schedule, Shift Timings & Key Instructions for Candidates: The NDA 1 Exam 2026 is scheduled to take place on April 12 in two separate sessions for the Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT) papers. Candidates are required to carry their admit cards, strictly follow all prescribed guidelines, and reach the examination centre well in advance.

NDA 1 Exam 2026 (April 12):
The National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) Examination (I) 2026 will be conducted on April 12, 2026, by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) at multiple exam centres across the country. Candidates appearing for the exam must download their NDA admit card and bring a printed copy to the examination venue. If the photograph on the admit card is unclear or missing, candidates should carry two identical passport-size photographs.

The NDA 1 Exam 2026 will be held in two shifts. Candidates must note that entry to the examination hall will close 10 minutes prior to the start of each session , that is, at 9:50 AM for the morning session and 1:50 PM for the afternoon session.

General Ability Test

2 to 4:30 PM

Candidates are strongly advised to report to their allotted exam centres at least one hour before the scheduled time to complete document verification and security procedures.

Important NDA 1 Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates must adhere to all instructions issued by UPSC to avoid any risk of disqualification:

  • Carry a printed copy of the NDA 1 admit card along with a valid photo ID proof. Entry will not be permitted without these documents

  • Late entry into the examination hall is strictly prohibited. The gates will be closed well before the exam begins

  • Wear simple and comfortable attire

  • Do not bring mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, or any electronic gadgets

  • Use only a black ballpoint pen to mark answers
