TN BDS Round 5 Additional Stray Vacancy Round Announced: Candidates Advised to Exercise Caution: The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DME), Tamil Nadu, has issued an official notification regarding the Round 5 Additional Stray Vacancy Round for BDS courses. The notice, dated 11 December 2025, confirms that the schedule for this special round is being published as per directions of the MCC/DGHS.

According to the Selection Committee, this round applies exclusively to BDS seats, and candidates are strongly advised to fill their choices only if they genuinely intend to join the allotted college and course. Since this is a Stray Vacancy Round, the rules are more stringent compared to earlier counselling rounds.

No Exit After Allotment in Round 5

The notification clearly states that candidates allotted a seat in this round will not be permitted to exit the course under any circumstances. Failure to join the allotted seat will result in:

  • Forfeiture of Security Deposit

  • Forfeiture of Additional Security Deposit

  • Forfeiture of Tuition Fee (if already paid)

  • Ineligibility to participate in any further rounds of counselling

  • Ineligibility for UG medical counselling next year

This makes it crucial for candidates to exercise due diligence before locking their choices.

Important Advisory

The Selection Committee strongly urges candidates to fill their choices carefully, considering the non-reversible nature of seat allotment in this stray round.
