The College exclusively for women was founded in 1975 by ‘Vidhya Seva Ratna’ Thiru. A. D. Jeyaveera Pandian, Thiru. A. D. Jawaharlal Pandian, ‘Kalvi Vendhar’ Thiru. A. D. Jeyem Pandian (President) and Dr. A.D.Jegadheeswar (Vice-President), in the name of their Parents A. Duraisamy Nadar and Maragathavalli Ammal and fulfils its mission to provide holistic higher education to the young girls from the rural areas of this District. The College has empowered generations of women, many of whom serve our nation with passion and commitment. The College is affiliated to Bharathidasan University and run by ‘Natarajan Dhamayanthi Educational Society’.

The college takes pride in stating that it was awarded ‘A’ grade in its first accreditation in the year 2004 and it was Re- accredited with CGPA of 3.11 on four point scales at ‘A’ Grade during 2011 by NAAC. In the Year 2017 the College was Nationally Accredited with “A” Grade by NAAC with 3.28. The college has been conferred Autonomous status for the first time during the year 2004. The Extension of Autonomy has been conferred on 24th September 2011 and in the year 2017 the Autonomous status has been conferred for the third time and it has been extended up to 2022. The vision of the Management, commitment of the faculty, creativity of students, cooperation of parents and responsiveness of the society at large are the main impetus for the success of the college.

The placement and carrier guidance cell (P& CGC) is responsible for carrying out placement related activities.
Irrespective of whether the student is opting for Placements or Higher Studies, students will provide their options in the profile.
If the student opts for Placements, she will be given access to apply for Campus Drives, Placement Trainings, Workshops and Seminars.
If the student opts for Higher Studies, she will be helped with various workshops, seminars to embrace her knowledge for future purpose.

Registration for Placements
All final year students will be displayed of an option in their Student circular for choosing either Placements or Higher Education.
The option will be given in the beginning of the Academic Year for UG final year students. Hence, students are asked to come up with the decision consulting their parents before a registration begins.
Students who have opted for Placements alone will be allowed to register for Campus Drives, of their preference and eligibility, via the Student Profile in the future.


Registering for Campus Drives
As Companies approach for Campus Recruitment, students will be intimated via the Student mail. According to the Criteria set by the Company, eligible students alone will be allowed to register for the Campus Drive.
Kindly note that the option to register for Specific Campus Drives will be allowed only for a shorter period. Date and time will be informed.
Students can view all information regarding the company and the job profile in the Student mail itself. If required, circulars/job descriptions will be circulated for the same.
Students will also be receiving online application forms or links via mail with specified deadlines.
Students after registering will receive notification via mail and text message.

Library

The visionary founders of the institution were ambitious to transform the society through educating women. Hence, the institution was started for the benefit of the young girls of this coastal town in the International women’s year 1975.
Library is a heart of an institution which collect, store and transmit update information to the teachers, students, scientists and those engaged in research and institution.
The Department of Library is every year conducting National Library week programme, World Book Day celebration, Librarians’ day, Workshops and Seminars. The Department has MOU with the Nagapattinam District Central Library, SALIS Association and NDLI Club. Under MOU, the Department conducted academic exchange programmes to enhance knowledge of the students.

College library of A.D.M. College for women is established in 1975.
It is located next to the main building in a vast area 589.985 Sq.m.
The library has a good collections of books, Competitive examination books, Journals, Magazine & Newspapers, CD’s, Back Volumes of Journals, Thesis, Question bank covering various branches of Arts and Science.
Library can Accommodate around 168 members at time in the three floors.
Books are arranged according to the need and interest of the students, following the “Dewey Decimal Classification System” with local variation.
The Digital section is fitted with 32 computers for accessing digital resources available in the form of CDs, DVDs, and also to access online resources.
Current Awareness Services is rendered through Library e-groups (WhatsApp and Google Groups) for Faculty and Students.
Readers Club is part of the library which conducts inter-departmental competitions, a self-study group formed to prepare for competitive examinations and career developments.
Internet browsing centre is functioning with free of cost in the second floor of the library building.

Hostel
The new hostel, opened recently with all modern facilities and comforts, makes the students feel 'a home away from home'.
The hostel life here affords the students plenty of opportunities to grow individually and collectively. During their stay in this hostel, they are made simple, lovable, capable and well disciplined.
We expect the hostellers to learn good qualities from others and to realize that they can also serve as role models to others. The hostellers, parents and guardians are expected to give their full support and cooperation towards making this place homely, lively, useful and enjoyable.
