The A.J.College of Education came into existence in the year 1967. It was the offspring of the famous Andhra Jateeya Vidya Parishad which was established by Sri Kopalle Hanumantha Rao Panthulu garu in 1907. The college is popularly known as 'National College'.

Since the inception of Teacher education in 1967, the Institution produced over 10000 teachers of diversified socio-economic backgrounds including inclusive education. Among them over 3000 are women. It is a matter of pride for the college that the first batch trainee of our college Sri Kolluri Koteswara Rao was on the floor of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council for a long period of time representing the teacher's constituency from 1968 till 1985.
