 Arcot Sri Mahalakshmi Women’s College was started in the year 1999 to fulfill the long demand of people in and around Arcot for the upliftment of underprivileged girls and to propagate women’s education in the society .The college is situated on the main road between Arcot to Arni in a vast area of land. Our college is totally committed to quality. Its main interest is selfless service.
    This is a self-financial institution started in Vellore District and affiliated to the University of Madras from the Academic year 1999-2000. To begin with, Five UG courses were offered with the total strength of seventy five students and seven faculty members, From the year 2003 the college has been affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University. The college began to upgrade and enhance itself with the introduction of new courses. At present the college has Thirteen various disciplines to its credit.In response to the great demand from the students P.G courses M.Sc IT, M.ScMaths& M.com were introduced in the year 2002. Gradually it facilitated with the introduction of other P.G courses like MA English and MBA.
    Due to the anticipation of students, at present it has seven PG courses. M.Phil course was also introduced in the year 2014. Because of the academic excellence, discipline, the character formation and moral valued education in the rural atmosphere, our college has cherished its nobility and fascinating rapport in the hearts of the people in and around Vellore.

To mould the character of the students and to educate rural women to suit with the changing technological growth. To transform the college into “ Deemed to be University”.

Under Graduate 

Candidate must have passed 12th standard in State Board/ CBSE in any discipline, recognized by the Educational Board of Tamil Nadu or any other state.

The candidate must have passed +2 Pass in any group Related Higher Studies.

Post Graduate

Candidate must have passed B.A. degree with English as the main subject of study.

A candidate who has passed the B.Sc. Degree Examination in Computer Science orComputer Science and Technology or B.C.A. of this University or an Examination of any other University accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent there to shall be permitted to appear and qualify for the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science Degree Examination of this University after a Course of two academic years in an affiliated Colleges/Department of this University.

Candidate shall be required to have passed a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline, shall be eligible for admission to MBA Degree course.

Acandidate,who is qualified for the Master's Degree in Computer science,Information Technology, MCA,forM.Phil.
