BesantEvening College is one of the leading colleges of Mangalore University and is situated inthe heart of Mangaluru city, and provides quality education. The college is reaccredited in 2015 with B grade by National Assessment andAccreditation Council (NAAC). With Besant Evening College, Women’s National EducationSociety displayed initiative, enterprise and conviction coupled with concernand compassion for the less privileged youth, who would have been denied highereducation in the normal course. TheBesant Evening College wasstarted in 1976 for the students who “Learn while they earn”. But now studentsalso come to obtain degree along with CA, CS and other courses. Hence, there isa great need to provide quality education with innovative teaching using modernteaching gadgets. In the teaching learning process, teachers are considered aspersonality developers and guides. We,the teachers in the Besant Evening College care for the wellbeing of students.The college NSS andoutreach programmes conducted gives an insight to participate in solving reallife environment. Many of our students have secured ranks and have alsocompleted their professional courses like CA, CS and ICWA. Now, the college isgearing up to a new beginning of providing CA, CPT and CS coaching with B.Comdegree programme. Admission Process
Admission to the course is open to all students who have passed the recognized pre-university course examination or other equivalent examinations as approved by Mangalore University.

How to apply
The prescribed application form and the prospectus can be obtained on payment of the specified fees at the college office.

Transfer Certificate

These should be submitted at the college office within the prescribed time, which will be notified on the college notice board.
Any Application which is incomplete will be rejected and no explanation for the rejection will be given to the applicant.
The list of students selected for admission shall be put up on the notice board.
The admission is provisional pending approval of Mangalore University. For Non-Karnataka candidates
Applicants from outside Karnataka State should pay the provisional eligibility certificate fee at the time of admission.

For Non Resident Indians:
Copy of the PUC / Equivalent Provisional Marks card or Marks card.
Pass certificate issued by the college last studied.
Copy of the Transfer Certificate attested by Indian Embassy.
Copy of the Migration Certificate.
Copy of passport – 1st Page, Visa page and Last page.
The students, who have completed their PUC or equivalent examination outside India, have to obtain eligibility certificate from Mangalore University.

WITHDRAWAL OF ADMISSION
Candidates withdrawing from the college after admission will have to forego all the fees paid by them, including the tuition fee.

Besant Evening College, Mangalore Facilities

Library
The College library has a collection of 16,798 books worth Rs. 24,48,175 which includes UGC and other collections. It also provides access to more than 32,00,000 e-books which can be freely downloaded. The library has created a virtual collection with financial help from UGC under the scheme Network Resource Centre. The library is automated using EASYLIB software.

Auditorium
The College seminar hall in the college is air conditioned which gives the best ambience to the students of the Institution. The air conditioned hall with a capacity of about 200 students is also equipped with projectors which would be apt for all types of projects and seminars to be presented by the students making them more competitive for the Corporate world out there.

Cafeteria
The college canteen is a popular meeting place and place for exchanging information. It is having a seating capacity of over seventy-five people. The canteen provides snacks, drinks, and lunch at subsidized rates.
