ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Bishop Caldwell College was established in 1883 by Bishop Caldwell. The College began its function again in the year 1996. This Arts and science college is located at Maravanmadam, Thoothukudi. Bishop Caldwell College is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelvel. Bishop Caldwell College is a Co-Educational institute sized with 10 Acres of land and the college is recognized by the UGC.

As the Motto of the college implies Seek, Study and Shine the aim of the college is to provide value based higher education to its students and develop the overall personality of the students by enhancing their creativity, self-confidence, assertiveness, communication and leadership skills. Therefore we plan our programmes with the specific objectives of imparting more knowledge, improving the skills and developing better and positive attitude of students. The scope extends well beyond academic excellence towards making better citizens of tomorrow.

• For admission to the BA, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Voc and BBA degree courses the candidates must have passed intermediate in any stream from a recognised board..
• For admission to the BCA and B.Sc.(Mathematics Actuarial and Mathematical Science), candidates must have passed intermediate in any stream from a recognised board with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
• For admission to the 5-year integrated course the candidates must have passed intermediate from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science/Biology as compulsory subjects.
