The Goals and Objectives of the Institution
The College aims at empowering young men and women by developing human capabilities through quality education based on moral values, making them responsible citizens who can create new things for the advancement of the society and to contribute towards nation building, thereby helping them fulfill their educational, emotional and social aspirations.

Institutional Mission and Goals Reflected in the Curriculam
In order to augment the students' employment and self-employment opportunities, application oriented subjects like Entrepreneurial Development, Financial Manangement , Industrial Economics , English for mass communication ,English for Competitive Examinations, Human Rights, Journalism, Tourism, Advertising and Sales Promotion, Computer Applications,Solid waste Management, Industrial Chemistry, Treatment of Water, Fundamentals of Information Technology, Medicinal Botany, Genetic Counseling , Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Technology, Environmental Biology, Developmental Biology, Organisational Behaviour and Yoga for Human Excellence have been made part of the Curriculum. In addition, conduct of special classes, remedial courses, periodical tests, model examinations and supplying study materials to students are regular features.

Education at low cost / free education for SC/STs and other weaker sections is provided as per Government guidelines.
Students are trained to take up competitive examinations.
Personality development programs and Employment Opportunities are provided through the Career Guidance Cell of the college.
Students are given equal opportunities in matters regarding education, training and avenues for employment.
Job oriented training is given to all students through Application Oriented Subjects(AOS). The students undergo Institutional training for the above subjects for a minimum period of 2 weeks during the final year of study.

No entrance exam in my college and eligibility for Tamil skills and then 60 above cutoffs in academic.

In our college scholarship are available for BC/MBC and SC/ST candidate. It's very much useful for your studies.

Physical Education
It is true that ‘a sound body ensures a sound mind’, and physical exercises are indispensable for those who are inclined to be healthy both mentally and physically. Though it was thought for long that physical education helps people making the physique of people fit /continue to be fit, it is recognized, of late, that its aim is ‘wholesome development of an individual’. “Physical Education should provide skilled leadership, adequate facilities and ample time for the individual and groups to participate in activities that are physically wholesome and mentally stimulating and socially sound” - J.F.Williams. Indeed, the contemporary conceptualizing of physical education elaborates upon this ‘leadership potential, fellow-feeling, patriotism, co-operation & group dynamics etc.,’ in a broader perspective as follows:
Physical Education aims,
To increase awareness among students of the place and need for leaders in our communities
To study various administrative and programming techniques which will -provide the student with the knowledge- to successfully assume a leadership role
To assist students in the understanding of "effective leadership" and how to become better leaders. i.e. how to listen, communicate, evaluate, constructively criticize, handle conflicts, organize self and programs, study and practise qualities of effective leaders
To assist students in building greater self-confidence and self-esteem through the development of good communication and leadership skills
To provide an opportunity to increase their leadership skills and abilities through experience and deliberate practice
To allow for student ownership and control over aspects of the programs developed, allowing for appropriate decision making and personal growth from successes and failures

Prefiguring such dynamic, multifaceted importance of Physical Education, the founder of our college, Thiru. M. Chikkaiah Naicker assigned almost 2/3 of the sprawling campus of our college to be used for sports and games in 1950s. The sports activities of this college, with its 60th anniversary fast approaching , have carved a niche of its own in this region. Our college has excellent infrastructure facilities for the students to joyfully participate in various sports and games activities. The facilities include a 400 mtrs track, football field, Kabaddi court and Volleyball court. Kho-kho and athletics is also being given due importance. There is also a spacious Gymnasium hall that can accommodate indoor-Badminton and Table Tennis games apart from being the avenue for Yoga. Teachers too are encouraged to participate and play. The long history of the physical education of this college has many achievements to its credit, inclusive of accommodating a show-match in its grounds by the Indian Cricket Team that included Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Srinath and others.

Our students have participated in numerous tournaments and sports and have brought in very many laurels and recognitions . The physical education department is functioning in an appreciable manner under the able leadership of the Physical Director Mr. M. Thirunavukkarasu since 1988. Some milestone achievements are:

Kabaddi : Bharathiar University Inter Collegiate Tournament Winners for SIX years.
Kho-kho : Bharathiar University Inter Collegiate Winners for SEVEN years.
Body-building : Winners for THREE years.
Cricket : Our student Mr. A. Jaffar Asiq Ali represented Tamilnadu Ranji Trophy and now he is the Selector for the same.
Many of our students have become Physical Education Instructors/Directors in schools and colleges.
Library
Being the oldest college in this district, the General Library of this college has the rich collection developed over half-century and more, and Dr.T. Magudeeswaran, Ph.D., is the Librarian of this college at present.

The library has more than 40,426 volumes (including those stocked in the Department Libraries) of books. The library also subscribes about 11 Indian and foreign journals. It caters to the needs of students, faculty members and research students. Being an oldest library, it has a rich collection of rare volumes. 11 departments of the college are provided with department-library facilities for research references and for prepartation for lectures by teachers . Modernization of the library to provide services like INFLIBNET and NLIST programmes is implemented. This has enabled the staff and students to access 3000 0n-line e-journals and 97,000 books.

Internet facilities are available for the faculty members and research students. Our library is an excellent, ever-growing Library with a good collection of books on various subjects of different Humanities and Social Science disciplines and also of general interest.

The Librarian has been granted permission by the UGC to conduct add-on courses, for our students, like C.Lis., D.Lis., and ADLis through a grant of Rs.7,00,000/. This will enable our students to get job opportunities in Public Libraries and educational institutions.

NCC
NCC of Chikkaiah Naicker college has a long and unequivocal reputation in this region. National Cadet Corps being a tri-services organization comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, it is engaged in grooming the youth – ‘The Leaders of Tomorrow’- into disciplined and patriotic citizens. NCC functions under the Ministry of Defence. Our college NCC has the Army wing. Our college NCC aims,

To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth.
To develop leadership qualities in youth.
To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces. It also actively participates in very many community welfare programmes like Traffic Control, various awareness campaigns, tree-planting, blood donation etc.
Our college has a till-date functional Firing Range as the first-built in this district.
It also has an Obstacle Course with 33 hurdles/obstacles for the NCC cadets to practice. Others can also practice for fitness purposes.
Annual participation in the RDC camps’ parade and TSC at New Delhi is regular feature of our NCC.
It is being lead by Lt. (Dr) T. Magudeeswaran, Ph.D., attached to 15 TN battalion, NCC Erode.
