About College 

Thalassery, the cradle of colonial legacy is known for its scenic beauty and prominence in the educational field from ancient times itself. The College of Engineering Thalassery, established in the year 2000. The foundation stone was laid by Sri E.K Nayanar, the then Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala. The new building complex of the College was officially inaugurated by Sri. M.V Raghavan, the then Honorable Minister of Co-operation and Ports in the year 2004. It is located at Kundoormala, Eranholi (West Ponniam) 6.5 km east of Thalassery town in Kannur District. The college is situated on a hilltop with a view of Arabian Sea on one side and the Western Ghats on the other.

The site is easily accessible by road. One can alight at the Thalassery bus stand and catch one of the frequent buses to Kuthuparamba and alight at Nayanar road. Those traveling by train should alight at Thalassery Railway Station and get the bus to Kuthuparamba from the Thalassery Bus Stand. The sprawling campus spread over 25 acres of land provides an ideal atmosphere for the pursuit of knowledge.

The College is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). The College Offers B.Tech courses in the following six Engineering streams and MBA course under Cochin University of Science and Technology. Admission to this college is purely based on the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the Govt. of Kerala. The students of this college are getting top ranks right from the first batch itself among the colleges under CUSAT. This college is the choice of top rank holders in the CEE. This college has made a distinction in discipline, quality teaching and in excellence of students.

Admission Requirments

Admission is made as per the rank obtained by eligible candidates in the state-level Common Entrance Exam conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala State. 90% of the seats in the Colleges under CAPE will be allotted by the CEE as per the reservation policy of the Government. So also, 5% of seats reserved for co-operative sector are also allotted by the CEE on merit basis and 5% N.R.I seat filled by CAPE on the basis of rank.

1. Candidates who have passed higher secondary examination, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50 %marks in mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and mathematics put together are eligible for admission.

2. Candidates who have a diploma in Engineering awarded by the board of Technical Examinations or an Examination recognized equivalent thereto, by the state board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final diploma Examination are eligible for admission.

Placement

The Training and Placement Cell of the institute centrally handles Campus Placement for Engineering students. The Cell provides complete support to the visiting companies at every stage of the placement process. Arrangements for Pre-Placement Talks, Written Tests, Interviews, and Group Discussions are made as per the requirements of the visiting companies

Library

The Library is one of the central support services of the campus. Central library is located at central position of the campus attached to the administrative block. Members of the library are students, teachers, non teaching staffs of the college. The mission of the Library is to provide information services and access to bibliographic and full text digital and printed resources in order to support the scholarly and information needs of the students, faculty and staff at the Institute Community.

Sports

College provides the various games and sports facilities within the college campus and outside the campus. Future of a nation is healthy only when its people are physically fit and strong. COET lays adequate stress on physical fitness and mental agility. Sports and games activities form an integral part of education here. Yoga and Meditation classes are conducted to inculcate self-discipline and self-control. While Yoga keeps the body fit and active, meditation provides mental agility that is essential while pursuing strenuous professional courses. Facilities and infrastructure are in place for students to pursue sports activities of their choice. Trained professionals offer coaching in various sports disciplines.

Canteen

College has spacious canteen facility in the college. A variety of south indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college with highest quality.
It also provides light refreshment like packed snack items, cakes, veg. puff, beverages etc to the students and staff of the college.

Transport 

At present eight buses, operated by the college PTA for the convenience of students and staff. Three buses operates between Kannur and college via Chala,Perallasseri, Mambaram, Kayalode and Kadirur. One bus operates between Kuthuparamba and College via Kadirur. Four buses operate between Thalassery and college via chonadam.6 Colleges buses are owned by PTA and 2 buses are on contract with PTA. The service of college buses are controlled by a committee which include student member also .Any complaint regarding the bus operations can be reported to the bus committee. Students and staff who are using college buses should remit the fee every Academic year, calculated based on the working days of that Academic year. A bus pass will be issued based on the remittance of the bus fee for both students and staff, which should be kept with them by travelling by college bus. Rules are over leafed in the bus pass. The students and staff who are using the college bus without bus pass will be punished. The decisions of the Principal will be final in this matter.
