Overview

Anakapalle is a big commercial Town with considerable population. Many of the students could not have university education without going to Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Vizianagaram. To provide education facilities for the students of this town and nearby places and to meet the demand for admission and to provide real education and maintain good standards in educational institutions Former Cabinet Minister and Oppoisition Leader of Legislative Council in A.P., Sri Dadi Veerabhadra Rao came forward to establish a trust called “ The Sarada Educational Trust” in March 1993. The aims of the trust is to start colleges both for general education and technical education and to open hospitals, to provide medical aid to the needy. Sri Dadi Veerabhadra Rao garu is the Honorary Chairman of the trust.

The first in the series is Dadi Veerunaidu College. This college is the brain child of Sri Veerabhadra Rao garu, a worthy grand-son of a worthy grand-father Sri Dadi Veerunaidu garu on whose name the college has been established in August 1993. Sri Veerunaidu garu served the people of Anakapalle for over 40 years in the capacity of Municipal Counsellor and Municipal Chairman.

Under the chairmanship of professor K.C.Reddy, the then professor of Economics, Andhra University, Visakhapatnm a team of affiliation committe visited the college and satisfied with the facilities available and the Vice-Chancellor was pleased to grant affiliation to start this Degree College with a number of combinations in B.Sc., and B.A., Degree Courses with effect from 30-08-1993. Thus, the Dadi Veerunaidu College came into existence from August, 1993 with a student strength of 120 and with 11 Lecturers. Sri K.Narasimha Rao retired Principal of A.M.A.L.College was appointed as Principal of this College.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) in Computer Applications is a full-time three-year undergraduate degree course offered by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.

The college has a library facility for all students. A library plays an important role in the search of knowledge. It serves as the workshop for the entire college – students and faculty alike. Sports
The college has sports facilities for all students. Sport is one of the revitalizing activities that is required in any field. In this regard, Dadi Veerunaidu Degree College organizes Annual Sports Meet every consecutive year to make the students participate in co-curricular events and also to gear them up for upcoming sports activity. Games like cricket, throw ball, hit the wicket, badminton, sprint, high jump, long jump, etc. are arranged for the students. The event is flagged off by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. The winner and the runners up are felicitated with trophies and medals.

College also provided 24x 7 Wi-Fi facility to seminar halls, e-class rooms, Library, Laboratories. The college has state-of-the-art campus network with 55Mbps Leased Line Internet connection for the benefit of the students and faculty to avail internet connection from anywhere in the campus. Internet access in the campus is secured and controlled through a dedicated server. The internet can be accessed from more than 60 computers.
