MIC Odyssey began in 2002 in Kanchikacherla, a village that boasts of idyllic beauty and serene atmosphere suited for scholastic pursuits. Right from its inception, the College has crossed new vistas making inroads into Quality Education under the dynamic stewardship of our Visionary Chairman Dr. MV Ramana Rao, M.E., Ph.D., CEO & MD MIC Electronics Ltd., Hyderabad.
THE TRANSITION
MIC’s tryst with destiny began in 2002 with three branches of B.Tech., (ECE, CSE and EEE). In 2004, Mechanical Engineering branch in B. Tech., MCA & MBA courses were added. The College was granted permission to run M.Tech., in Machine Design, PE&D, VLSI&ES and CSE in 2012. APSCHE approved diploma courses in 2012-13 with two branches: EEE and ME. In 2013-14, two more branches in diploma viz., CE and ECE were approved.
In 2013, permission was accorded for B. Tech., in Civil Engineering branch and in 2017, for B.Tech., in Information Technology. The College was approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is permanently affiliated to the JNTUK, Kakinada.

Category A seats: 70% of the sanctioned intake are under this category and these seats are filled by EAPCET Convener.
Category B seats: 30% of the sanctioned intake in each course are made by the competent authority of the Government of A.P. through the online admission process.

Eligibility:

1. A candidate should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the Academic Year for which the admissions are being conducted.
2. NRI Candidates (sons and daughters of NRIs) "5%" Eligibility: A pass in the qualifying examination with not less than 50% of marks in the prescribed group subjects or 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination or CGPA equivalent to 5 on a scale of 10.
3. The remaining seats shall be filled with candidates including from other States and Union Territories who have secured rank at AIEEE and secured not less than 45% of marks in the prescribed group subjects in the qualifying examination.
4. The seats remaining unfilled from (ii) & (iii) above shall be filled with eligible candidates on a merit basis who have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) of the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. with the prescribed group and obtained at least 45% marks in the prescribed group / 40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories and secured a rank at the Common Entrance Test.
5. The seats remaining unfilled from (ii), (iii) & (iv) above shall be filled with candidates on a merit basis securing not less than 45% (40% in case of reserved categories) in the prescribed group subjects taken together / aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Admission for Lateral Entry
Additional 20% of the sanctioned intake in each course is allocated for admission through lateral entry at 2nd year level into B. Tech Program. The admissions are governed by the rules and regulations of ECET entrance test, APSCHE.

Admission for M. Tech programs
Enrollment of the students in M. Tech programs is based on PGECET conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and all India GATE exam.

Seats are divided into two categories:
1. Category A seats: 70%
2. Category B seats: 30%

Admission for M.C.A / M.B.A programs
Category A seats are filled by the Convener and Category B seats by the Institution.

Eligibility:
1. The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (10+2+3) with Mathematics as one of the subjects in SSC.
2. Rank in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the State Agency.
3. For B Category, not less than 50% of aggregate marks or CGPA equivalent to "5" on a scale of "10" in the qualifying examination.

Procedure for Admission into Diploma Courses
Selection of candidates is governed by the Rules and Regulations laid down in this regard from time to time.

Candidates who wish to seek admission in any of the diploma courses will have to appear for common entrance examination (POLYCET) conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh. Only the candidates satisfying the following requirements will be eligible to appear for the common entrance examination (POLYCET).

1. The candidates seeking admission should have appeared for the X class examination, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh or equivalent Examination thereto, at the time of making application to the common entrance examination for polytechnics (POLYCET). In case candidates who apply pending results of their qualifying examinations their selection shall be subject to production of proof of their passing the qualifying examination in one attempt or compartmentally at the time of interview for admission.
2. Admissions are made based on the merit rank obtained in the POLYCET and the reservations rules stipulated by the government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time.

The Department of Training and Placement in any college holds a prominent position as it engages in running a gamut of activities intended to provide placement assistance to the students. The department endeavors to equip the ‘prospective’ employees with the required skills: technical, analytical, quantitative, verbal, reasoning and soft skills.

The department of Training and Placement has the following functions and responsibilities:

It nurtures Industry Institute interaction, by planning industrial visits, in plant training and projects of industrial relevance for the students, with the sole aim of bridging the gap between the industry and the institute.
It helps every student define his/her career goal through expert counseling.
It coordinates Campus Recruitment Program, to fulfill its commitment of a job to every ‘eligible’ aspirant.

At MIC, the department of Training & Placement has been consistently successful in maintaining high placement statistics over the years despite the various trends in the industry. Our students get placed successfully, year after year, in various MNCs and it bears witness to the ‘training culture’ we have nurtured over the years, both through on-campus as well as off-campus training strategies.

The students of MIC are nurtured to be universally compatible to take up challenges in any emerging sector. The corporate preparedness of our students is witnessed by the significantly large number of students that get hired by the recruiters as compared to the other institutes in this area.

Residential Accommodation

The hostel is on campus.32 living rooms can accommodate 5 students in each bedroom, equipped with a desk, chair, and wardrobe. There are sufficient toilets, bathrooms, and sinks with running water. There are two dining rooms and a modern kitchen. There is a beautiful chapel also on campus to meet the spiritual needs of the inmates

The Library
Devineni Venkata Ramana & Dr. Hima Sekhar MIC College of Technology, Krishna has its excellently equipped library housed in a second-storeyed building. It is well-ventilated and furnished with a pleasant academic environment. The library has a collection of over 10,000 books, over 100 journals, over 500 memoirs, and 4,000 back issues of magazines and CDs, and DVDs.

Computer Lab
The requirement of the day is computer Education. Our computer lab has 49 systems and provides knowledge and experience to our students all the time. The lab is open even after college hours providing opportunities for interested learners to practice and become masters in computer operations. Students utilize the Internet facility to download and prepare for their teaching practicals and use the Net for Powerpoint preparation.

Canteen
This place is very comfortable for all the students to relax for a while. Not only delicious snacks are available here, but also stationary and other personal items.

Games and Gymnasium
There is a provision for a gym and some indoor games items are available for the students. There is a period allotted to them, group wise and they utilize this gym as most of the students these days try to keep their body fit with some light exercises. So this place is very helpful for the students in maintaining a good physique and helps in having a sound mind and healthy body.

Transportation Facility
College operates about 48 well maintained and conditioned buses for commuting students from various parts in and around Vijayawada to college campus.
College also operates an A.C bus for senior faculty of the college.
GPRS system has been implemented and speed limit has been setup to ensure safe travel of the students and staff.
All safety guidelines of A.P government are being followed including installation of speed governors to limit the speed.
A separate maintenance section is being maintained at Vijayawada to keep the buses in good condition and to take care of routine maintenance.
