The Government College (Autonomous), Mandya, a holy shrine of Sharada Devi was established in the year 1948 to meet the educational requirements of rural students. It has grown from years to years and acquired the Autonomous status in 2005. It is a matter of great privilege to state that the University of Mysore, Mysore in pursuant of the approval of the UGC and the Government of Karnataka has granted “Autonomous Status” to the college vide Order No. CDC :B:AUTONOMY:28:1992-93 dated 8th June 2005. It is a matter of great honour that it is the first Autonomous Government College in Karnataka State. After getting autonomy, the college has started several new courses/combinations and designed its own curriculum. Different committees are constituted as per the UGC guidelines to ensure the effective functioning of autonomy.Evaluation plays a pivotal role in the working of an autonomous institution. Hence, the examination section headed by the Controller of examinations and assisted by Examination committee is formed with needed infrastruct.

Provide scholarships to those students of their state who secured their 2nd PUC percentage of more than 75. You can apply for it online. The sum of the scholarship provided will be based on your percentage in your +2 exams. The scholarship facility is quite good we'll get the money that we have laid for. And some free concessions are made for meritorious students. there is no bank loan facility because the courses aren't that high cost we don't need extra money.

The time of the library is ( 9:AM to 5 PM ), and the average of a student visiting the library is almost 200 to 250 daily. There are 19281 Books for SC/ST and EWS students. In the Library, there are Journals, E-journals, Magazines, Newspapers, etc.

Government College (Autonomous), Mandya College hostel being from outside you have to opt for a hostel for sure. The hostel for 1st year is approximately 600 meters away from the college. There is a regular bus facility for the students living in the 1st-year hostel provided by the college. From the second year onwards you can opt for the hostel situated on the college premises. Fees for the first-year hostel are around RS 5000 for the year excluding the mess bill which comes around free by the Karnataka govt.

Government College (Autonomous), Mandya College campus is completely ragging-free. There is equality among males and females and no domination of any section over another. The labs of our college are one of the richest labs in the entire north Karnataka. There are separate stadiums for Tennis, kho kho, volleyball, cricket, table tennis, and many more. gyms for boys. The students take part in various automobile and robotics competitions.
