ABOUT COLLEGE :

Government Law College, Namakkal was established this year (2019) by the Government of Tamil Nadu through G.O.Ms.No.142 Law (LS) Department on 24.07.2019 and is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. This is a pioneer institution catering to the needs of the students of western districts of Tamil Nadu. It offers five years BA.LL.B Integrated Degree Program (80 seats) and three years LL.B Degree Program (80seats).

This institution boasts of a robust legal education system with law teachers of high calibre who dedicate themselves to the welfare of the students and are highly motivated to prepare our students for trans-national practice.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission to 3 Year (LL.B) ) / 5 Year (B.A., LL.B) Degree Course is based on Academic Merit through counseling.

ELIGIBILITY – 5 YEAR COURSE

Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination under 10+2 pattern with not less than 45% of marks which is recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Tamil Nadu, are eligible for admission.

For S.C./S.T. candidates concession of 5% marks in the minimum of marks required for admission for B.L. 5 year Degree Course of study as prescribed in the regulations will be given.

ELIGIBILITY – 3 YEAR COURSE

Candidates who have passed a three year Degree Examination of Universities in Tamil Nadu and Such degree awarded by Member Universities of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi for purpose of mutual recognition on reciprocal basis, after 10+2+3+ or 11+1+3 pattern and also recognized by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University alone are eligible for admission to B.L. (3 years) Degree Course.

Placements: 

Almost 60% of the students get placed in our college. The highest package offered is 5 LPA, and the average package offered is around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are AZB, SAM and other banks.

College Scholarships

ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
(G.O.MS. 310, (SOCIAL WELFARE) DATED 4.4.77)

From 1977-78 onwards all kinds of scholarships (viz residential and non-residential) relating to postmatric studies shall be sanctioned subject to 90% attendance by the students who seek and are eligible for the benefit.

1.The Scholarships shall be awarded to three M.L. students of any branch who are pursuing M.L. Degree Course, one each from Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai, Government Law College, Madurai, Government Law College, Trichy affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai provided that the student should have passed B.L. Degree Examination in the first attempt and admitted to M.L. Programme in any branch in the respective colleges securing highest marks.

2. The Scholarships shall be awarded to those M.L. students who come from 3 year B.L. Degree Course and 5 year B.L. Degree Course in alternative years.

3. The Scholarships shall be of the value of Rs. 3,000/- each and shall be given in the form of standard Text Books in the Law subject for the respective M.L. Degree Course with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University .
