ABOOUT COLLEGE :

The Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) was established in 2005 under section 3 of the UGC Act. HBNI has the following Centres as its Constituent Institution (CI)/Off-Campus Centre (OCC): The Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) was established in 2005 under section 3 of the UGC Act. The role of HBNI is to nurture in-depth capabilities in nuclear science and engineering and to serve as a catalyst to accelerate the pace of basic research and facilitate its translation into technology development and applications through academic programs, viz., Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering, Physical, Chemical, Mathematical, Life and Medical & Health Sciences while encouraging inter-disciplinary research. Additionally, academic programs in the domain of Applied Systems Analysis have also been identified to ensure the availability of adequate qualified human resources to address issues pertaining to nuclear law, the economics of nuclear power, nuclear security, nuclear proliferation, intellectual property rights etc. HBNI has been accredited by NAAC with a score of 3.4, as a category 'A+' University in 2021. In the MHRD's National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) exercise for the academic year the 2022, HBNI received 17th rank in the University, 15th position in Research Institution category and was placed at 30th position among 1657 institutions in the overall category. ADMISSION PROCESS

Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) was notified as a deemed to be university on June 3, 2005. The institute was set up in Mumbai under the purview of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). Every year, the institute invites applications for its PG Diploma, M.Tech, M.Sc, M.D, M.Phil and Ph.D. courses. It also offers Super Specialty courses (M.Ch and DM). It has 11 constituent colleges all over India.

• Applications for admissions have to be submitted offline for which the forms are available at the website.
• Institute has set basic eligibility criteria for all the courses. For Diploma and PG courses, graduation is required in the concerned disciplines. Post graduate degree holders can apply for Research Courses.
• Admission to all the courses is based on the entrance test.

HBNI M.Sc and M.Tech Admission

The two-year M.Sc and M.Tech courses are offered at HBNI under five disciplines. Admission to these courses is based on the entrance exam. Candidates who apply for M.Tech and M.Sc courses at the institute must have passed M.SC/ B.E/ B.Tech in the concerned disciplines with minimum 50% marks.

The entrance exam will be held offline. Candidates can register for admission by filling in the application form and submitting the required processing fee on or before the last date. Merit list after the entrance exam will be available at the campus and the official website.

HBNI Application Procedure

The application process for all the courses is offline. Application forms can be downloaded from the official website. Application forms for each course are separate. Forms will be available in Word document format. Candidates need to take the print out of the form after downloading and follow these steps:

• Fill the mandatory application details and attach a self-attested photograph.
• Candidates have to attach the self-attested copies following documents with the application forms:

1.   Proof of date-of-birth

2.   Mark sheets and degree

3.   Research Proposal (only for research courses) 

4.   The application fee is Rs. 5000/- which has to be paid through Demand Draft.

5.   The DD has to be issued in favor of Accounts Officer, HBNI payable at Mumbai.

6.   Duly filled in application form along with the fee and required documents has to sent at the following:
