Admission Policy

IIFT has commenced the admission process for this academic year in various design programmes at Undergraduate Degree, Masters and various Diploma courses. Eligible aspiring students can now apply in both online and offline mode for admissions in any of these courses.

Admissions are done based on the fullfilment of eligibility criteria and on a first come first serve basis subject to availability of seats.

Interested students can walk in directly to any of the two IIFT branches and seek the help of the academic counselors.

We realize that Fashion Designing is a subject that originates from applied arts, is embedded in human culture, and finds meaning when implemented in the fashion industry. The course that we have designed is industry-oriented. We have developed and maintain a close association with the industry which is considered as our well-wisher as they depend on us for supplying quality professionals who can take up important assignments in the industry.

Our students get ample opportunities of getting industrial exposure that makes them ready for using their knowledge in the practical field. Their learning acquires a special meaning as we give them opportunities of applying it.

Placement Cell is functioning at the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology with an aim to train students and raise employability keeping in mind their career aspirations in the field of fashion merchandising, fashion designing, fashion styling, fashion retailing, garment production, apparel quality assurance, fashion buyer. Every year our students undergo rigorous placement training and career guidance program from eminent resource persons from the apparel and fashion industries to gear up for employment opportunities.

Library
Library
The college library is an asset to any educational institution as a central strength to hold the teaching and learning requirements of the college. IIFT Library serves as a platform of knowledge with 1870 volumes of books and national magazines and journals in the field of fashion and apparel design. The CD and DVD ROM are also available in the Library for the students to have knowledge of fashion shows and fashion catalogs. The library has an enormous collection of reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, yearbooks, textbooks, etc.,


Laboratories
The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students. such as

The sewing lab is equipped with Cutting Tables, Mannequins, Dress Forms & power-operated high-speed lockstitch sewing machines, overlock machines, and programmed sewing machines to facilitate the student's practice for garment manufacturing.

The textile lab is equipped with fiber testing instruments, fabric testing instruments, garment testing instruments, and bath beaker dyeing machines to develop skills for students in the area of yarn manufacturing, fabric manufacturing, and textile wet processing.

The draping lab is equipped with mannequins for students to try out and explore various aspects of a particular design they have in mind.

A fully equipped computer lab with the latest hardware and software helps students with designing and giving their design thoughts a colorful and beautiful form.


Classrooms
The college classrooms are equipped with inbuilt computers and projectors to facilitate the students with an aid of audio-video presentations. The classes are equipped with comfortable furniture to enable the students to attend the classes conveniently.

Alumni Associations
The college Alumni association is the association formed by the graduates or former students of the university which relates the present students, the department, and industry. It's a strong platform to have a good relationship between the industry and institution for sharing ideas and knowledge with each other.
