Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (LUVAS) located in Hisar, Haryana has been named in the cherished memory of Lala Lajpat Rai, a great patriot, the foremost freedom fighter, an ardent social reformer and a versatile writer.  An independent University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, it was established in 2010 in pursuance of the Haryana Act No. 7 of 2010.  The College of Veterinary Sciences was shifted to Hisar from Lahore in 1948.  It became a part of Chaudhary Charan Singh (CCS) Haryana Agricultural University in 1971.  The College of Veterinary Sciences and the College of Animal Sciences, earlier the constituent colleges of CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar , have now been incorporated in this newly established University. The college of Animal Sciences is merged into College of Veterinary Sciences.

LUVAS currently comprises three institutions: College of Veterinary Sciences, College of Dairy Science and Technology, and Institute of Para Veterinary Sciences.  Around 19 Institutes and colleges are affiliated to LUVAS for B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree Program and Veterinary Livestock Development Diploma program. As a state-owned university, it has a high reputation and is regarded as one of the leading colleges for veterinary and animal sciences education in India.  LUVAS has formed MOUs with several organizations, such as the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Agriculture Skill Council of India, and ICAR CIRB Hisar.

Presently the University is located in the campus of the CCS Haryana Agricultural University in Balsamand Rd, Prem Nagar, Hisar, Haryana.  The Government of Haryana had allotted a piece of land measuring 300 acres on Hisar – Chandigarh National Highway (4 km from Hisar town) to raise an ultramodern new campus of the University for which foundation stone has already been laid on the auspicious day of 15th August, 2011. The new campus is environmental friendly, energy efficient based on vertical expansion and green building Concept.

LUVAS has been officially recognized by the University Grants Commission of India. The university aims to provide quality education, research, and services in veterinary and animal sciences to contribute to the development of the livestock industry.  The Institutes affiliated to Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences for B.V.Sc. & A. H. Degree Program are International Institute of Veterinary Education and Research (IIVER) and College of Veterinary Sciences, Hisar, Haryana.

The university currently offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate, Diploma and Doctorate, in Veterinary and Animal science with various specializations like Veterinary Science, Livestock Development, Veterinary Laboratory Technology, etc.  In all the university offers 5 Degrees and 47 Courses.  LUVAS also provides B.Tech/M.Tech programs in Dairy Technology and Ph.D. programs in 18 specializations. Admissions to BVSc & AH program is based on NEET-UG scores, BTech (Dairy Technology) is based on the entrance Test conducted by LUVAS. Admissions to the MVSc program is based on ICAR AIEEA-PG Exam, MTech program is based on Merits.  Admissions to Diploma Programs are based on VLDDET conducted by LUVAS/ NEET-UG for DVLT.  Admission to PhD programs are based on ICAR-AICE–JRF/SRF scores.  Candidates need to undergo a Counseling process conducted by the university to be admitted to any program.

A spacious Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex is providing round the clock services for treatment and care of sick animals including referral services. The Ambulatory Clinic, Central Laboratory, Animal Research Farm having different species of livestock and poultry and an excellent Disease Free Small Animal House are some of the other unique facilities with the University. It is also running a two year Veterinary Livestock Development Diploma course. The main building of the college is more than 50 years old with little scope for expansion. The University also has seven disease investigation laboratories situated at strategic locations in the state to provide diagnostic services to livestock and poultry farmers and to strengthen surveillance of various emerging and existing diseases. The Regional Centre of Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex at Uchani (Karnal) is proving referral clinical services to North and Eastern region of the State.

The new Campus is being seen as a “once in life time” opportunity. It is being planned with 2030 vision in mind. The Campus will be self-sufficient with respect to the infrastructure and facilities for Teaching, Research, Sports, Recreational, Residential, Utilities, Amenities and Misc services etc.  In addition, it shall have centralized, inter-disciplinary, common facilities for Teaching and Research to make the working environment more interactive, friendly, efficient and economical.

Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences has maintained a great placement record since its establishment. The average package offered to LUVAS graduates ranges from INR 4 LPA- INR 5 LPA. Many renowned organizations like Animax, INTAS, and Bharat biotech are among the top recruiters of LUVAS. With around 119 faculty members, the university maintains an excellent student-to-teacher ratio, providing students with adequate attention.

This is a good university with good placements and bright future. Placements: Around 10% of students are placed. But our course is not recruiting by companies, IT is a field course. But there are many courses in this university where students are recruited by top companies.

The basic eligibility for LUVAS UG admission 2021 to most courses is merit in the last qualifying exam; however, for several courses, the university accepts the score of various entrance exams conducted at the national, state, and university level. For the PG courses, the students must have an undergraduate degree in the relevant subject of study. MVSc applicants are assessed on combined achievement in the entrance exam and the bachelor’s degree. PhD admissions are merit-based.

Lala Lajpat Rai Institute of Management, Mumbai offers Master of Management Studies (MMS), MMS II Shift and PhD in Management programmes to the students. Admission to MMS/MMS II Shift is based on CMAT/XMAT/SNAP/CET/NMAT/GMAT/ATMA Entrance Exam. Further candidates who get shortlisted on the basis of the scores of the entrance exam have to qualify Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Admission to PhD in Management is offered on the basis of Phd Entrance Test (PET) conducted by University of Mumbai and aspirants qualifying this test will be called for an interview. For MMS/MMS II Shift:

Candidates have to appear for CMAT/XMAT/SNAP/CET/NMAT/GMAT/ATMA Entrance Exam.
Candidates then have to apply for admission online on the LLRIM website.
Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the score obtained in CMAT/XMAT/SNAP/CET/NMAT/GMAT/ATMA Exam.
Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
Final selection will be done strictly onthe basis of merit obtained by the candidates in CMAT/XMAT/SNAP/CET/NMAT/GMAT/ATMA Exam, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
For PhD in Management:

Candidates have to apply for admission online on University of Mumbai website.
Then, candidates have to appear for PhD Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the University of Mumbai. Candidates qualified in GATE/SET/NET (JRF) Examination, candidates who are teacher fellowship holders of the apex bodies and candidates who have done M.Phil from University of Mumbai or any other recognised University are exempted from PET.
Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the merit obtained in the PET.
Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Personal Interview.

About 90% chances of government. Jobs otherwise you can start a private business of veterinary clinic. It is a very profitable business today. And stray animal treatment is social work so you can gain goodwill from people and government jobs in this field are highly pay scales.

Training: T&P Cell of LLRIM provides training to the students for aptitude and reasoning, group discussion, presentations, technical and HR interviews. The members of the cell invite professionals to give training to the students.
Selection Tests: in order to judge the Quantitative aptitude, Logical ability, English competency, Domain knowledge and Suitability towards specific skill-sets of the potential students, these tests are taken and candidates qualifying the test further proceed with the placement process.
Group Discussion: Students clearing the test will further have to participate in Group Discussion which may be on any topic, it can be a social, political, business-related topic, etc. Candidates have to voice their opinion and present their thoughts in front of the interviewers and showcase their oratory skills.

Scholarship 1
The scholarships shall be awarded to the B.V.Sc. and A.H. students admitted against Haryana Resident seats only and their merit will be prepared on the basis of the merit of the Entrance Test (ET-2019).
The University awards merit scholarship of Rs.1600/- per month to a student as prescribed for Haryana resident only. This scholarship is, however, offered to only 25% of those students who have been admitted against the Haryana Resident seats. The amount of scholarship will be Rs.2400/- per month if the recipient is a girl student.
