Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, a premier Institute in higher studies, is a constituent institute of MJF Vidyapeeth Samiti growing as a centre of excellence in providing education and training in veterinary.  It was established in 2007 with the permission of the State Government and started with due permission of University and Veterinary Council of India from the session 2009-10.  “Mahatma Fule” Founder for “Education to All”, Saint Shri S.L. Tanwar, Founder-Chairman & Social Reformer and “Guruji Hari Kishan Saini” Educationist for their inspirations and establishment of this Society/ College.

MJFCVAS is situated in the sprawling area surrounded by natural,  pollution free serene beauty along with backdrop for great educational vision.  The College is located at around 29 km from Jaipur Railway Station on National Highway 52, Chomu Bypass, Jaipur- Sikar road, Harota, Jaipur (Rajasthan) having excellent environment and easily accessible through various means of transport from all over the world.

Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Veterinary and Animal Science is permanently affiliated to Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner (RAJUVAS).  It is recognized by the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, New Delhi.  MJFCVAS is recognized by the Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi for the intake capacity of 100 seats of B.V.Sc.&A.H. Course. 

Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is a reputed institute for BVSc&AH, apart from which the college also offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Doctoral and Diploma courses in Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Technology and Fisheries.  The course is available in Full Time mode.  BVSc. Students can choose this program to excel and pursue a career in Veterinary Science.  The Institute has highly trained & experienced faculty who efficiently deliver this program. The Course offered by the Institute is for total of 80 students.

Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences has got the infrastructure and space for teaching departments which are much than the present regulations of the Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi.  The College focuses on ensuring that the students acquiring academic qualifications at the College campus emerge as good citizens who contribute to the growth and development of society and nation.  And to that end it provides excellent infrastructure and facilities.  It has state-of-the-art buildings with modern Lecture halls, well equipped Laboratories, separate in-campus Hostel for Girls and Boys, well-stocked Library, Medical centre, Multi-purpose Hall, VCC, Play grounds, Common facilities and excellent facilities for Clinical and Farm practices.  MJFCVAS also provides various extracurricular activities such as sports competitions, cultural events etc., which help the students develop their overall personality.  It for the students & staff member's for health care.  The college also conducts training programs for personality development.

The MJFCVAS faculty is dedicated with its very well defined aims to the emergence of animal industries as a full-fledged agri-business for enhancing the economy and generating mass employment particularly in rural areas.  The hard work and dedication put in by management and the devotion and enthusiasm of staff and faculty members combined with the zeal of students have allowed the College to scale up the new heights.

MJFCVS prepares the veterinary workforce with the scientific knowledge and skills required to meet social needs through the protection of animal health, relief of animal suffering, conservation of animal resources, promotion of public health, and advancement of veterinary knowledge. The College has own two live stock farm complex as per norms of VCI, Well functional LFC is available with campus.

Undertake region-based, need-based and basic research for improving animal health and productivity by adopting modern technology including value addition.

Provide efficient extension services at the door step of poor and marginal farmers and livestock owners and motivating them to adopt animal husbandry, poultry, and related vocations as an engine of economic growth and social empowerment.

Empower women to become, “Knowledgeable Livestock Stakeholders” giving them economic identity as majority of the activities of Animal Husbandry practices are in the hands of women.

Mission:-

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people and animals by advancing veterinary education, improving animal health and welfare, strengthening research, and enhancing environmental quality.

To provide extension services to the farmers and livestock owners.

To make the human transformation of the students by equipping them with all the desired prerequisites of the veterinarian’s world in the current veterinary scenario.

To prepare students who could grow to be competent enough to contribute significantly for the betterment of mankind through this profession.

To spread out the veterinary knowledge and train the youth to improve the welfare of animals/birds and to balance the demand of livestock production in quantity as well as quality, especially for Rajasthan state.

The college is also planning to have P.G. program in different faculties of the college. Other provisions of Extension are seminar, symposia, workshop and exhibitions of Animal Health Care program through clinical veterinary complex, diagnostic centre and disease investigation facilities.

Artificial insemination program for genetic improvement of livestock and use of sexed semen.

National Social Service Program is followed to benefit the farmers regarding dissemination of various veterinary practices at farmer’s door and various short duration training programs to farmers in the college.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2023-24

Intake capacity: 100 Seats

Admissions in MJF College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences shall be made under three categories:-

A. All India quota seats :-

15 % seats will come under all India VCI quota seats, if any seat remains vacant after last counselling of all India VCI quota will be transferred in state quota/ management quota seats.

B. State quota seats :-

35% seats will come under state quota seats, if any seat remains vacant after last counseling of state quota will be transferred in management quota seats. The seats of state quota will be filled up by State Government’s authorized agency.

C. Management quota seats :-

50 % seats will come under management quota seats. If any seat remains vacant after last counseling of state quota/ VCI quota will also be filled up through merit of management quota seats.



Note 1. Registration of the candidates will be finalized by the concerned University whose decision shall be final.

Admission of the candidates who have passed qualifying examination from University/Board of the state other than Rajasthan will be done provisionally till RAJUVAS confirms it.
Eligibility criterion of management/state seats is strictly followed as per norms/rules of VCI & Govt. /University.

MJF Veterinary College has a separate in-campus hostel for Girls and Boys. The Warden and administer the daily hostel management. hostel has a building with High Standard Facilities. The hostel offer exemplary facility and a serene environment that is conducive to the growth of both mind and body. The institution has a good number of resident students coming from different parts of the state and outside state as well.

The hostel mess provides hygienic wholesome food at reasonable prices. Food court caters variety of food to suit all tastes. Mess is run by Mess contractor who is abide to follow all the guidelines and directions given to him by the Mess committee members from time to time under the order of Chief Hostel Warden.

The hostel provides a cot, a study table, a chair, a rack and a cupboard for each student. Hostel has 24 hours electricity and water supply. Water cooler with Aqua guard filters, refrigerator and Geyser facilities were also provided. TV rooms with Plasma TV connected to a DTH network are available for the students in their respective hostel. A separate study room and Gymnasium are also made available for them.

BOYS HOSTEL

MJF Veterinary College has a separate hostel for boys students. The Warden administer the daily hostel management. Mess is run by students of the hostel on cooperative basis and are abide to follow all the guidelines and directions given to them by the Mess committee members from time to time under the order of Chief Hostel Warden.

All rooms in hostel are well ventilated, aerated and furnished with study tables, chairs, fans, fluorescent lights a rack and a cupboard for each student. Hostel has 24 hours electricity and water supply. Water cooler with Aqua guard filters, refrigerator and Geyser facilities is also provided. TV rooms with Plasma TV connected to a DTH network are available for the students in their respective hostel. A separate study room and Gymnasium are also made available for them.

Veterinary College has a large size library hall having area around 4000 sqft. accommodating separate reading facility to teaching faculty, staff & students with comfortable sitting arrangements. College has a Wi-Fi internet facility to provide e-journals & e-learning. It has a large stock of books as reference & text books around 4000 in number and it facilitated with magazines, newspapers, journals & periodicals to interact the students and faculty with veterinary science. Our computerized library is extensive, well ventilated, and spacious with comfortable seating arrangements. Every student is provided sufficient books according to his/her need. At a time two books are issued for 15 days to the students and charge of Rs. 10/delayed day is imposed to the students. Library has huge collection of text & reference books, journals and E-journals. The library has a quality Xerox & Internet facility for the students & Staff. To follow the Rules & Regulation of the library is mandatory for students as well as faculty.

Play Grounds
The Sports Centre at Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Veterinary & Animal Science facilitates the activities of Badminton, Cricket, Foot-ball, Hockey, Basket-ball, and Handball etc. In order to facilitate the proper conduct of these games, clubs have been constituted and each club is headed by a teacher. There are NSS unit of volunteers in our college. Many students are enrolled as NSS volunteers. These volunteers have done excellent work in the field of functional literacy, adult and health education.

Common Facilities

College has its own building and land for running various departments with attached VCC, LFC, common facilities library, central instrumentation facility (CIF), disease investigation unit, skilled lab, simulation lab. and postmortem facility. College has well equipped VCC with outdoor and indoor patients sections and client accommodation facilities. It has medical, surgical, gynecological, diagnostic and ambulatory clinical section. The college has a well developed LFC with livestock units and infrastructure for maintenance of livestock, animals of different species, storage facilities for feed and fodder with a large sized fodder production area. In addition to department, College provides common and administrative facilities i.e. Dean office, visitors room, committee room, office room (for office staff, general, academics, accountant and establishment section), central store, personal staff room, toilet facilities for visitors, office staff and students, record room, photocopying facility, canteen, conference hall, seminar room, 5. lecture halls, examination hall, drinking water facility, playground, boys hostel, girls hostel, animal houses for small laboratory animals, central computer lab, central diagnostic lab, micro photography and processing unit, transport facility, artificial insemination centre, medical hospital for students and staff and cold room facility.

The College provides bus, Car facility from adjoining areas of the college campus both for teachers and students.
