MES College of Engineering & Technology
MES College of Engineering And Technology was established in the year 2011 by Muslim Educational Society(Regd). The college is situated on the banks of Periyar river in Kunnukara, North Paravur.The college is approved by AICTE and Govt. of Kerala is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University,Trivandrum

Past few decades have witnessed a significant transformation in the educational status of Kerala Muslims, who were educationally most backward. The Muslim Educational Society is one of the main architects of such transformation.

The movement was started by a group of socially conscious people, headed by the late Dr. P.K. Abdul Ghafoor Sahib in 1964 at Calicut. Well-known professionals, intellectuals, educationists and businessmen whole-heartedly supported the venture. The society has been promoting a large number of educational projects and programs from primary schools to professional colleges. In a short span of time, its activities spread to almost every district in Kerala and a large number of MES educational institutions were started. Today the Society runs more than 150 institutions including more than 50 Schools, a number of Post Graduate Colleges, Women's Colleges, Professional institutions like MES College of Engineering and MES School of Architecture, MES Institute of Technology & Management, MES Medical College, Nursing College and Dental College. This year, 2011 AICTE has approved MES College of Engineering & Technology, Kunnukara. The Society proposes to start a new Engineering College in Kozhikode during 2012-2013. In addition to the Institutions in the Statesof Kerala and Tamil Nadu, MES Institutions were established in the West Asian countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Muscat.

Out of the total number of seats sanctioned, 50% seats will be filled by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations and the remaining 50% including NRI seats will be filled by the Management.

1. GOVT Quota
50% seats of the sanctioned intake of students in B Tech courses are set apart for centralized allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
Eligibility for Admission in Govt. Quota
1a. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), put together are eligible for Govt quota admission.
Note:-
(i) In two year Kerala Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognized equivalent thereto with two year course where the Board Examinations are conducted in both years, the total marks of two years in the respective subjects as shown in the mark lists of the respective Higher Secondary Boards will be considered for academic eligibility.
(ii) In Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto where Board
Examinations are conducted only at the end of 12th class (final year), the marks in the respective subjects as shown in the mark lists of the respective Higher Secondary Boards will be considered for academic eligibility.
(iii) For all other type of Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, the marks of the respective subjects as shown in the mark list of the respective Board of Examinations will be considered for academic eligibility.*

1b.He/ she shall be qualified in Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2018.

2. Management Quota
(i) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination,Kerala, or Examinations marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission. However candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equialent there to, with 45% marks in mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges.
In case the candidates has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered.
In case ,the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered.
In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry,Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered.
The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.

3. NRI Quota
15% seats of the sanctioned intake are provided for NRI category and allotted to children and dependants of NRIs on the basis of marks obtained for PCM in qualifying examination. These students are admitted by the Management based on their academic eligibility as per University norms and exempted from qualifying in Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2018.

4. Lateral Entry
year diploma holders in Engineering having 50% marks in the final diploma examination are also eligible for admission to second year BTech.
Candidate should qualify LET Exam.

The college has an independent training and placement cell which arranges placement programs by reputed companies and ensures placement to all elgible students. It plays a key role in counselling and guiding the students of the college for their successful campus placement. The placement office ensures and take care to provide the best arrangements and hospitality for the various visting companies and officials.

EFFORTS
The Placement and Training Cell functions under the supervision of a full time placement officer and functions throughout the year to arrange campus interviews by the companies. It plays a very crucial role in counselling and guiding the students for their successful placement.
Placement and Training Cell of our college functions with the main objective of shaping the engineering students to be readily deployable by industry.
One-to-one career exploration and Career development counselling is available to all the students. It acts dynamically and flexibly to improve the knowledge and skills of the students in order to make them suitable for the placement.
Many reputed organizations have visited our college providing opportunity for our students to utilize the resourceful young minds available in our region.

CANTEEN
The campus has a canteeen near the main block.At the canteen,dishing out menus are highly popular among students as well as staff members.Students enjoy their food in the clean, well maintained, aesthetic and appetising atmosphere.Most of the people fondly remember their college canteen as one of their life's high points.It is the place where they keep their creative juices flowing with hot discussions, chewing ideas, exchanging and sharing strongly held opinions and eatables.

Kitchen staff take care to provide the students and staff a nutritious and hygienic food at our campus canteens.A wide variety of homely foods are available.The food is provided at subsidized rates from the canteen.

Canteen has become a welcome break for both the students and staffs and is the daily hob-nob after college hours. Frequently, the discussions get animated as students pet theory is challenged and legs are pulled playfully.

The canteen is the lifeblood of the students.The homely atmosphere and aroma of delicious food permeates the air as they eat, drink and chat. It remains a focal place of the students for rest and refreshment.

Digital Library
A fully automated state of the art library is home to more than 10000 volumes of technical books, national and international reputed journals, CD-ROMs, DVDs, e-database, Project Reports, Seminar Reports, Thesis Reports, IS codes etc.
All library services like acquisition, cataloguing, issue, return, renewal; catalogue search (On-Line Public Access Catalogue) has been fully computerized. The Central Library details can be accessed from anywhere in the campus by using OPAC.Each department of the college is equipped with departmental library for specializing in their area with extensive level of knowledge boost in the field of concern of staff and students.

A Digital library has been established in Central Library premises with effective e-Iearning materials, e-database, e-journals, e-books etc. It can be accessed from anywhere in the campus for 24 hours.


A Library committe is formed to perform the following functions


To pilot the librarian in formulating library policies and regulations
To provide proper documentation service and to update the library collections
To recommend suitable budgetary provision for the library
To allocate funds to different departments for purchase of the books during the start of a semester.
To work towards the modernization of the library

Internet

MESCET has high speed internet access and is open to students and staff on all days except sundays and public holidays.36 Mbps of internet has been catered across the campus, This helps the students to prepare papers on the latest technologies to be presented in various symposiums and seminars.


The access speed enables the Students and Staff to download and upload files at a fast rate.which is available for 24 hrs.

Labs & Workshop

The laboratories of all departments are well equipped with advanced equipments, modern softwares & sophisticated instrumentation systems.

Prayer Room

A room is reserved for the spiritual needs of the students & staff. Students are encouraged to spend some time everyday in the prayer room for their spiritual nourishment.

Guest House

The institute has a guest house with A/C rooms for visiting faculties and guests.

Medical Facilities

A qualified medical practitioner is available for medical treatment in the campus. The campus is situated at a distance of 500m from Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Science.

The MES College of Engineering has more than 6 buses which are made available to the students and the faculty members for commuting from various points in the city. All students should make use of the MES Groups Transport or should stay in the hostel. This facility has made it possible to start the classes in time and thereby helping the academic process. Our bus facilities have enabled us to maintain discipline among students.

All the buses reach the Campus before 8.50am, so that all the students and faculty can have their breakfast and get ready to attend the classes at 9.00am. The buses leave the campus at 4.10pm, which helps all the students to reach home early and safely. For the benefit of students who are attending special classes, using internet facility, library etc., special buses are arranged everyday which leaves the campus at 5.00pm.
